Wow My 2019 Z3 52Inch Broke My deck belt, with 160 hrs on its 3 yrs old, got 3 for 25.00 each, thks for sharing,

my old 61 went through belts quickly I noticed one maybe 2 idler pulleys were low not running even on the belt so I threw a couple washers on the bottom side made a difference

This makes me think I should check mine for good measure. Not to 300 hrs yet but it’s easy enough to check. I bought extra belts for all my mowers when I bought them this spring also. I learned the hard way during fall cleanups a couple years back when my belt broke on my powered bagger. That jammed me up bad and I lost a ton of time and money over a simple belt.

628 Hours on a Belt that's unreal. I referred back to one of your old videos for the Tweel part number for my 52. Can't wait to try them. However like everyone else and everything else its on backorder. Get belts indeed.

All good points. I also keep a spare deck belt. I’ve never had a problem with a drive belt, but I’m pretty sure I e just jinxed it

The way I look at that belt is it is about 30% left still..... so maybe 2 more seasons? Or would you suggest not waiting that long?

Actually had to replace a drive belt! Under 200. Hrs🧐Ferris didn’t warranty it. Warranty is 30 days! First belt replacement, and on my 3rd set of Ferris mowers, so pretty good I guess👍

I recently picked up a z3x 61” and I’ve noticed that it doesn’t cut very well. Even after double cut, there are a ton of stragglers. I normally mow with my 52” stander, and that cuts great. Have u noticed a decrease in cut quality with the 61”? Thank you!

I have to double cut with the full mulch kit on, doing bi weekly lawns. On weekly cuts it's great and open chute no mulch kit, it's great. There are many reasons why you may not be getting a great cut. What blades/setup are you running? Have you removed the baffle at the chute opening?

Also what are you cutting, is it treated lawns or mostly weedy lawns? What is your cut height and deck pitch?

@@HandyGuy2016 mostly treated beautifully kept lawns. I did not remove the baffle at the opening. I had no idea that could help? I’ll check that out. As far as the height, each lawn varies but mostly between 3 1/2-4”

@@jessepoleto check deck pitch also, measure blade tip front and back on both sides. Should be no more than 1/4" higher in the back.

I didn't realize that a lot of your yards are so rough. Is the Ferris suspension system is good as they say? That's supposed to be one of their advantages over some of the competitors.

The suspension is amazing and traction is awesome due to articulating front end on the Z3X.

@@HandyGuy2016 I didn't know it articulated. That would be great on rough ground. I know that is why people like Ventrac tractors that they both articulate and oscillate.

Bud, put wood blocks under the deck, take the weight off the deck lift and twist the lift arm back and forth. I keep mine greased but hitting ruts and bouncing the deck is hard on the lift arm pivot esp on the 61" deck. My 52" is fine, getting some slop in the 61. A couple guys reporting the catch hook having trouble latching in the transport position. It's because the single shear heim joint is twisting the lift arm.

How do you like the mulch kit on the z3.

I like it for summer and Fall, not great for Spring unless you like cleaning the deck constantly.

I have a mulch kit on my gravely all year except for cleanups then I take it off and use the bagger. Just got a 61 inch vride and through a mulching kit on it. Not sure how I feel about it. I think it holds the grass up in the deck to long and builds up then bogs down.

I demoed the 61 inch z3 and really liked it. It was a tough choice between vride and z3 but came down to availability for me.
