Baby powder also helps the chains to have more slip and not catch on each other

Had a teacher in high school who freaqutly fidgeted with her necklaces tangling them in the process, and after a while, I became her go-to guy to fix them because I learned this method after years of doing the same thing.

If the knot is particularly tight you can use corn starch aka corn flour to lubricate the knot, then it will come loose easily.

I was taught this 40 years ago by a jeweler friend, but he recommended using two pencils, as the carbon slightly lubricates everything as you're detangling. Works like a charm!

I saw a hack once that worked equally well...just rubbing the balled chains on a bed or your leg or a cushion...I was amazed how well that worked :D

I always use baby powder on where I would lay the tangled jewelries and move them around first and use ends of pens😆been doing this for decades 😊

I found these techniques to work also but when I have a tight knot that I can't get the safety pin or straight pin into in order to break it apart, I put a little drop of cooking oil or liquid soap on the knot and rub it in. It will lubricate the knot and loosen it enough to get the pin point in.

Yes this IS the only way. But no lie i once left a very tangled fine gold chain on my table to do later....a few days passed. IT had untangled !.an impossibility i know....but it happened!
