Exactly, it was never meant to be who's better than who. Both of them help each complement each other's weakness and they can battery each other. Me playing "yelan teams" if they exist using xingqui feels good while playing "xingqui teams" using yelan just feels so bad (I think only exception is rational yelan). But putting them both together just feels so much better, it's literally one of the best cores in the game.

I really appreciate your stance on "must pull" units. A lot of other content creators mean well and say similar things but you are very clinical in your approach to say that no unit is a must pull. IMO there's too much passively condoning/normalizing gambling culture in this game's community so seeing you actively push back against that whenever you can is really cool

dont think anything is "must pull" since genshin is game that makes its chars based on diffrent playstyles so one that shieet for one might be great for another.

@@nightmarerex2035 welp am i the weird one who thinks that there is no must pull ? bruh the hardest content in the game is early game when healing is sparse because you dont have that much food or the food gadget, and everything is hard because you are underlevelled and under geared, if you can go through that then you can go through pretty much everything, only other problem you will ever face is abyss floor 12 and personally abyss 12 is overrated like 36 star is amazing and all but its never a necessity like ever, its only a how much artifact you grinded test if anything, i have like boatload of 5star with some weapons and i still cant 36 start partly because 2 teams cant clear it fast enough and another being i am too lazy to try it more than once. i always 33 star it and that pretty good personally

One thing that doesn't get mentioned often enough regarding yelan is that her throws from her burst doesn't miss. Yeah if you are too far away from your enemies it does, but as long as you are in range, once it's out it will trace the enemy like a heat seeking missile. It can even trace it when the enemy teleported away. Which is worth mentioning because not even xingqiu's rainsword could do that.

Well the game has a really bad auto targetting where it might focus on another target instead of what you want. so maybe more of a positive and a negative, not really her fault just the games fault

@bird9412 but xingqiu provides interruption resistance + damage reduction which is also important for yoimiya since you don't wanna dodge with her to avoid ruining her vape

I love xingqiu's defensive support - he's a pseudo healer AND shielder just by having his abilities active, and that resistance to interruption is so noticeable.

I think he’s overhyped a bit. Especially when people like Zajef mention how he’s a “much” better unit based on stuff like damage reduction and healing. Take those two away and you’re left with hydro application. He’s great but Yelan is better

Personally i don't care if Xingqiu or Yelan is better, i just always use them together. wetther it is Hu Tao team or some hypebloom stuff and so on. They buff each other, they fulfill each other's ER needs, etc. etc.

Yelan's Barbed shot is very fun in open world. You Barb shot, tag the enemies with your skill to refresh, Barb shot again. If you have Sac Bow or C1 you can repeat this rotation a second time. Does pretty decent damage if you do 2-piece Heart, 2-piece Millileth or something similar. This isn't super useful in abyss, but it's really fun to do in the open world and will kill most weaker groups of enemies. Yelan is one of the best open world characters.

Btw, on that Burgeon team with Nahida, Bennett, Xingqiu and Yelan If you use Kazuha to infuse pyro and onfield Yelan, she'll be able to create seeds because Kazuha Swirl weakens the Burning aura enabling each Hydro aura hit to both vape and bloom This is the team I run with Candace on AoE and needs a bit of getting used to because the self damage from burning and burgeon can one shot you

Yeah, I was glad to get an Elegy with my Homa, because I planned to pull Venti. But then in Yelan we got an amazing, versatile holder for it. And then we got dendro reactions, for which EM is extremely valuable. So Elegy ended up being two or three times as useful as I knew at the time.

I got Yelan C2 when she came out, and I had started playing Genshin shortly before her debut. So for me, I actually almost never used Xingqiu until somewhat recently. I think Yelan C1 is my favorite constellation I’ve ever gotten for any character - it makes zipping around the overworld much more convenient, not to mention generating extra particles. And her C2 adds more hydro application and damage. I love it.

Her BB is pretty nice in the overworld. If you aim it at under any tower or platform, it'll hit/knock over any enemy on it. Oh and using it for any bow aiming challenge is EZ mode.

Ever since i got her i haven't been able to bench her in the overworld regardless of what teams I'm using, her kit is just sooo good for it, i just can't stress this enough. You have her spammable CA that is instant and very handy in some situations, her E just ZOOOMS all over the place and has enough dmg to make most fights really quick(sometimes outright killing the enemies), and her Q will obviously be more than enough to kill even the beefiest enemies you find in seconds. I've been counting the months, weeks and now days to her rerun so i can get her C1 and just ZOOOOM nonstop with Sac bow all over Teyvat

Got Yelan, Aqua, and two Homa’s last night. Already prepared all the mats to take her to 90, 8/8/8 her talents, level Aqua and one of the Homa’s to 90, and had a very good artifact set ready for her. I already knew she was both good and that I enjoyed playing her, but I wasn’t prepared for how satisfying the Xingqiu/Yelan combo is to play. All those projectiles flying out, with both the sound effects and the resulting damage, brings a smile to my face. And yes, I do have Elegy and some alternative pieces if she needs more energy or if I just want her to be more supportive. I went in with 340 wishes, and when I went to soft pity, lost the 50/50 to Jean, then went to soft pity again for Yelan, and THEN went to high pity for the first Homa, I was expecting I’d have to dip into my starglitter to get to Aqua. But then fortune smiled upon me, and I got the 2nd Homa at 32 pity, and then Aqua showed up at a mere 9 pity. Honestly, rather than a 2nd Homa, I would have preferred either of the standard banner bows, Amos or Harp. Obviously, Homa is very powerful and versatile, so it’s future proof if we get another strong polearm DPS in the future, but as of right now I don’t have a use for the extra one. All in all, I was left with exactly 80 wishes worth of primogems, and 64 wishes worth of starglitter. Enough to potentially guarantee C1, but I’ll try to restrain myself. I’m hoping, most likely fruitlessly, that in three weeks 3.5 drops and it turns out MHY actually did buff and rework Dehya into a good unit off the beta. She doesn’t even need to be meta or game changing, I just want her to be good.

The most important thing about Yelan is thay her arrows follow the enemies even when they fly. I used Zhongli Yelan Xingqiu and Fischl for a long time with Yelan (c0 with Favonius) as a main dps and I destroyed all the bosses of the previous abyss including the geo wolf

Personally I found that i can incorporate 2 of yelan's e in my rotation smoothly. Making it so when i play her solo hydro I don't find I have energy problems

I’m definitely getting her. I love collecting hydro units since they are so adaptable. Also i really want to try out double hydro teams with her. I’ll be picking up Aqua or Homa just because have 60 pity saved up and both are great stat sticks.

At 18:58 you mentioned "Why not just use a hyperbloom team instead of trying to 'fix' Nilou team's single target issues", it's usually because the abyss decides to be cringe and have two AoE chambers and then suddenly one single target chamber. Personally, I don't want to do an entire abyss floor to get to that single target chamber with a weak in AoE team.

As someone that plays hyperbloom in every abyss, hyperbloom is probably the best single target team that still does amazingly in aoe I've played.

I need her for a 2nd hyperbloom team. Currently running Nahida, Kuki, Xingqiu and and another dendro character. I plan to put her in a team with Raiden. Still don't know which dendro character though.

Well, you could use Yaoyao since she also gives you mitigation. Her application in AOE is about the same as DMC and better than Collei's. You could also on field AlHaitham if you have him or maybe Baizhu will work when he comes out but that might be a few patches. For last abyss I used YaoYao, DMC, Raiden and Yelan on side one and Nahida, Zhongli, XQ and Kuki on side two (extra mitigation for the rift hounds and breaking the wolflord's shield). It worked rather well. I've not done this abyss yet though.

xingqui makes it so teams can exist, bennet just makes most teams do more dmg. i personally dont use bennet at all except when running raiden overvape for a bit, but i use xq or yelan all the time. i also primarily use hp scaling queens or reaction focused team that dont care for a raw atk buff.

Hu Tao actually can use and like the Atk buff, it just Bennett happen to heal as well that's why you wouldn't want to use Hu Tao with Bennett.

if somehow someone is still not sure about aqua please take this in consideration coming from a yelan user with aqua. I got both yelan and her weapon by pure luck (just 30 pulls combined and aqua by pulling for jade) and honestly since then she became a staple in 7/10 of my teams paired with xingqiu and while I think my yelan with aqua is pretty balanced (190% er with 70-170 crit) I still struggle getting her q back if I'm not running her with xq and often have to go back to favge, and ofc change her artis for more hp and crit stats. aqua is a good upgrade but as zajef said only in a few scenarios and not really worth it if you plan on only using it on her (luckily in my case it's also good on tighnari) and definitely not worth the weapon banner pain at all

just ask yourself if you need a second xq. maybe you want to run a vape team first half and a hyperbloom team second half in the abyss. or maybe you need the damage of a xq-yelan core to clear the abyss. if not then just skip her imo

My c0 Yelan has 211%-222% ER depending on which artifacts I use (within 4-piece emblem)… wouldn’t Aqua be a great weapon to pull for on the current banner? I don’t think you did a review on the current weapon banner, right? I couldn’t find one at least.
