Thankfully the rust and corrosion were perfectly uniform in depth (superficial) and color (red-orange), and came off so easily. Amazing, I guess.

It could be genuine, there are plenty of Warsaw Pact era weapons in long term storage to choose from. Some will still be usable if stored correctly. I'd rather have a surplus British LMG in 7.62mm with the chromed barrels and 30 round magazines. The WWII Bren was so well loved, that when we changed to NATO standard ammunition, Royal Ordnance just rechambered and had the barrels chrome plated. Which along with standardised magazines turned an excellent weapon into a superb one. A little heavy but well worth it for the reliability. Those guns were pampered as prize assets. Actually too accurate for the LMG role. If memory serves there were moves to have it as the basis for a sniper weapon but it was never followed up. Just too bloody heavy. Incidentally, the same 30 round LMG mags were interchangeable on the L1A1 SLR. Making the combination very useful as section weapons. I recall leaving spare 20 round SLR magazines with the guard LMG gunner on return from patrols. It really was an efficient system. - Excuse my reminiscing. I miss my time in service.

I clean Civil War Musket... I study rust patterns like a artist... this video has me thinking about making a video about my recent purchase two muskets... one 1863 frozen with rust the other is a Savage 1861. Surprisingly you do see plenty of rusty guns , however a machine gun like the one in the video seems odd... to be fair I thought all the " barn find" muskets were long gone... depends on where you shop.

Same here, my projects are American Civil War muskets, so the less work the better. Typically I repair stocks and actions; the more you restore the less value. The goal for me personally is to learn barrel welding and flintlock reconversion ... from percussion. I see lots of wonderful old muskets and want to save them all!

Czech ZB-30 LMG fired the 7.92 mauser cartridge from a 20 round box very similar design and function to the Bren (Brno-Enfield) .303 inch LMG. When the Germans got hold of it they named it the MG30.

@@grandpaweber2097 BREN is not copy - british machine gun maked in Enfield was maked under licence from Zbrojovka Brno - originally is it "lehký kulomet vzor 26" = "light machine gun mod.26" by Václav Holek, first dedicated for czechoslovak fortress border system, built in the 1930s to defend against Hitler's Germany. Mod.26 used cartridge Mauser 7,92x57, BREN (BRno - ENfield) used cartridge .303 British (7,62x56R).
