I have this same desoldering station. Yes, it does clog up a lot because that tube doesn't get hot enough and the solder solidifies before it makes it to the glass tube. I find not sucking the solder UP the tube helps a lot - i.e. hold the board so the gun is sucking horizontal makes a big difference. Like you said, letting it warm up for a long time gets that tube slightly hotter, and less chance of clogging. It was pretty cheap though compared to any of the other de soldering pump stations!

I was Googling to find how to reassemble the gun section that I took apart a few monts ago, in order to find an assembly diagram, but no luck. I felled on your video that do not cover that, but I got more lucky this time. For a very shots time I saw where the fume filter goes. I 100% agree with you about Chinese CRAP. They are often as much crappy for documents too. Producing a user manual with a bunch of safety notices (and sometimes useless), but lacking of a part assembly diagram is really stupid.
