Presets are great starting points. In this video, I will review what I wish producers knew when utilizing my presets. My presets are designed to sound good out of Serum, however, you can make them sound better by removing the Reverb and Delay. You can also create dozen of sounds by just learning essential Synthesis.
Watch this video to see what I wish you guys would know :D

Another tip is, if you really like the effects that are on a preset but you want to process it further, you can save the Serum effects chain as its OWN preset, turn off whatever effects you don't want processed, then load that effects chain preset into the separate Serum FX plugin after whatever additional processing you did. This only works for serum presets of course but it's a decent tip!

BEEP BEEP!!!! This video is gold, ninjas. Zen, you have one of the best instructional channels and styles on the web today. The web is huge, so this is a big compliment. I've been watching instructional videos for a long time, and you've found a way to continually increase the value in your videos while still making a living. Cheers.

Thanks, bro I learned early on that it's not all about the views. Found ways to make this feasible and use the power of KZfaq without playing the rat race views game.

Yes delay reverb is to be used with caution. However sometimes the mudiness and unclerliness is exactly what your sound needs. Just make sure to tame the frequency spikes that will come out of it. Don't be too shy but also don't go too high.

Only true facts in this video! 👀 When I layer sounds and route them into one bus I often use a gate as well to optimize the ADSR. Especially for bass sounds it has been a game changer for me recently! 🙌🏼

This is going to be a dumb question, but how loud do you listen to your tracks!? From creative - mixing - mastering? All the same volume or different for each stage?

He said in an interview that he has his few go-to plugins for bass and kick is mostly if not always just a fitting sample for the track. No big chains or synthesis behind kicks. And regarding bass: Saw. Most of his Tracks are Saw-bassed. Take care of the envelopes and filters, maybe add a very few effect tools and there you go. Its really not that difficult. More difficult is how he always manages to fit the elements well in the mix. His mantra basically is less is more. The less instruments you have, the more room they can take.
