I have been using this product to kill the roots in my mainline for a few years now. The permanent fix is to repipe the main line, which will cost a few thousand. I don't have that money, so in the meantime I just use this root killer every six months.
This is preventive maintenance. If you have a active clog on the main line, you will have to unclog it with drain liquid, plunger, drain snake, or sewer jetter. This bottle of Root Kill will not solve an active clog.
