Make sure you watch the replay after playing -

For all of you with the issue of Shockwave not starting on the Origin Version. inside the zip file is besides the launcher also a readme data. this explains that you need to install the mod inside the second General zero hour folder and add a "\" to get it to work. Otherwise it will just launch the normal Zero hour. This did work for me. So if it helped you fix the problem share this with us. Thank you and have fun with the mod.

It's a very nice mod where many things are balanced compared to zero hour; like Alpha Aurora is useless against buildings and deals less damage to units, defences don't target the supply planes, anti air units won't attack the USA units' drones, airforce carpet at rank 3, and so on. Unfortunately not many people are playing it, hope to see a tourny of SW soon. Thanks for the video keep it up

Given that Origin no longer exists, there seems to be a problem with this. Launching shockwave now will just trigger the default launcher and you can choose between default generals or zero hour, Shockwave will not start. Any fix for this?

I followed everything man but every time I go to lunch shockwave through the shockwave luncher, and then I click generals zero hour on the right when that second window pops, it always opens the normal zero hour :/ help

Does this mod work with the Origin edition of the game from the Ultimate collection, did the same stuff you did and it just launched the regular game

Yes it should work just fine. Shockwave mod has it's own launcher which will launch Shockwave.

When pressing "launch" on the shockwave launcher, it ends up sending me to another launcher where I can either select to launch Generals, or Generals: Zero Hour, instead of just just launching the shockwave mod like in this video. Has anyone ran into a similar issue?

@@TheGoatTalks I actually solved the issue, by installing the file to the already existing Generals Zero Hour folder, instead of making a new folder. When you open the shockwave shortcut after installation it will still prompt you to pick either Generals or Generals: Zero Hour, and if you clock on the Generals Zero Hour option, then it will launch the shockwave mod. LMK if you need any clarification or have any questions.

In case you have a cracked out version you picked up from some website uploaded in like 2022, this is the installation path Generals Zero Hour - Shockwave / Data Where Generals Zero Hour - Shockwave is the copy of the regular Generals Zero Hour folder you made. I am not sure if you actually have to copy it.

first uninstall, then reinstall ,then install gentools, then install the mod into the 2nd folder as per the nfo instructions then run game via the shockwave exe. there is no need to add / anywhere

I could not run it, it opens the launcher for generals which you choose either zero hour or the first game. how can i solve this? do you guys have a discord where i can ask?

If you choose ZH, does it still not start? You can also manually edit all the .gib file extentions to .gib Or even use the launcher inside the folder you installed it in, the shw launcher. Lastly, you can join this server and ask for help. It's for Shockwave and ROTR. discord.gg/REcbv37

Gibt es hierzu auch ein Video zur Installation wenn man das Spiel über Steam gekauft hat ?, Hier unterscheidet sich der 2. Ordner wenn man auf C&C Generals Stunde Null klickt kommt dann ein Ordner der nennt sich nur Stunde Null hab schon einige Ordner durch mit der Installation von Shockwave aber es öffnet immer wieder die normale Stunde Null Hilfe !

Hello I do not know where to report this. But in the 1.201 version of shockwave, there is a bug in the stage: Armor General vs Laser general. The supply trucks dont drive back to the supply center, instead they move to the enemy base, so this stage is impossible to beat because you can not get resources.

ive followed this instruction precisely. nothing. doesnt work, it just launches the normal game. the only difference here is im using the EA app coz origin is gone. also renaming the gib files to big also didnt do anything. hope to hear back. cheers

i cant get this mod to work :( i have the collection on origin and did everything it tells me to do copied the folder and pasted it with a different name and it still opens up generals and zero hour anyone have any ideas?

nvm got it to work, it was just confusing since yours starts up right away and on mine you have to choose generals or zero hour, i have to pick zero hour and bam ! works perfectly

I can download it if i do have zero hour game right? So i need to copy first my original zero hour file then i will install this mod to that duplicate folder? So it will not affect my zero hour game if theres a problem installing this mod? Correct me if im wrong.. thanks for the response

I have a playlist of tutorials and have some mods in there. My favourites are Shockwave, Contra and Chaos Mod, which is a mod of Shockwave, so a mod of a mod :)

My game is installed in D: drive/C&C Generals Zero Hour/Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour. Still the mod doesn't work when i install it there in that directory

You can try manually renaming the .gib files to .big and then use the normal ZH launcher and see if that works.

Hello, please make a backup of the original .exe file, don't overwrite it. You can download the 2nd .exe file in this link and place it in your Shockwave folder. If you want to download the 3rd one, that is okay as well but if you play with friends, all of you need to have the same one. gentool.net/download/executables/

Hello, yes you can. As long as everything is the same, you can do. If you wish to plah on GameRanger, it would be easier to download Shockwave 1.1, it is compatible with GameRanger. Shockwave 1.2 isn't unless you manually edit files. Your best chance would be using a cable to connect the computers or else RadminVPN (not to be confused with Radmin). A very simple and easy to install and use VPN. Lots of multiplayer players use RadminVPN, all my mod games have been on there as well other than Shockwave 1.1. If you wish to play Shockwave 1.2 on GameRanger you would firstly need to install Shockwave 1.1 so that GameRanger recognises it then copy and paste all the Shockwave 1.2 .gib files into the same folder and rename them all to .big Hope this helps :) This should hopefully allow you to plah.

Interesting, I used the same method and all is fine. Perhaps you have other mods installed in the same folder? Or else you have some addons installed? Such as extra money or higher height.

@@Jundiyy Found out that it's a problem with the current version of the game from EA/Origin. The game does a check for an incompatible version of DirectX, then crashes. There's a fix for it (you have to mod the config files) but I had to dig through EA's forums to find it. Apparently it's been a problem since December of 2021 or so- only people like me playing "new" iterations of it. Everything else worked after I got that settled though. Thanks for the video, this mod is terrific!

I have a R.G. MECHANICS zh generals probably crack version of it Before I installed the mod I uninstall the game first After after installing everything nothing happens the mod doesn't work or even launch So I opened the regular zh game .exe but nothing changed So I changed the .gib file to .big But the shockwave launcher still doesn't work or even launch at all So I checked and opened the zh general . Exe to see if something changed After opening it the mod actually installed but the shockwave launcher doesn't launch But at least the mod is working in the zh general .exe lol

What is your full install path? It should be similar. CD version and origin are nearly the same, I'd presume this would be as well.

If you are installing and launching the shockwave mod but only getting the standard Zero hour game to play, you need to look up this video "New GenLauncher Tutorial and Guide!" by USA_bruce. Following his guide you install "genlauncher" and then it automatically plugs in the mods you want to install including shockwave. This is the only way I have gotten shockwave to work after spending 7+ hours working on this frigging mod. Good luck everyone.

So, with Origin replaced by EA App, it seems playing Generals with mod become more complicated? I used to play ROTR back in 2021 but when I come back, it seems, with the new platform, the mod just doesn't work. And this might be a way to bypass it?
