I bought the Topcom kit ... I have yet to hook it up. Working the ATC first. Your videos will be VERY helpful

I see that the Masso has a connector marked XYZ probe. Would this probe plug directly into that without using the internal terminal blocks?

Nope. That connector is for their 2-wire XYZ block. You could install a connector in the back and use that with the 3-wire model in the video, but it has to be wired differently.

Newbie question... When using the 3d probe on the masso g3 touch. In the beginning of your video where the probe is touching off the x y and z Are all 3 points being measured automatically? Are you running some sort of macro? Or are you manually jogging the machine to get it close to where you want it then hitting a selection on the masso probing screen? I see the inside circle measure selection on the masso probe screen. That allows it to move from side to side to then find the center of any size hole. But I dont see where it would automatically measure x y z on an out side corner? Am I just overlooking something obvious? Thanks in advance!

It measures X, Y and Z automatically in a sense. But it doesn't do all three at the same time. You can do X and Y at the same time, depending on how to initiate it in the MASSO. I'm not running any macros. I am manually jogging to get close to where I need to be, then hitting a selection on the probing screen.

Dude your videos are good. I’m exited to see what else you do. I see it looks like your getting an atc soon by the holders. Curious to see your solution to the dust boot issue. Also I see I believe you’re running MASSO firmware 5.100b. Curious how you like it?

Thank you! I’m still running the alpha release that preceded the recent release with the MASSO Link lockup issue. So far so good, but I can’t say I’ve pushed it that hard yet. Yes, those holders are my own design. I’m trying to perfect the height so that the dust boot problem is minimized and so that the 3D probe fits. I have two solutions in mind for the dust boot problem. I’m excited about both.

I know Masso instructions say to disable the auto tool zero but I wonder why as when you assign a tool to the probe it will not seek the setter anyway. I got my probe, same as yours and after setting ti up it works perfect with X and Y but the Z ends up off by 1.200" , feel I followed the instructions to the letter. Pat

@@UglyDogWoodshop I do not have or use a touch plate so I followed Masso's instructions and referenced yours as well, seem like the difference is using a piece of paper verses the touch plate, I also noticed that when I probed a different thickness of material the value in the tool table did not change for the probe like it does for the tools.
