Zero in MvC:I actually had more change when compared to his change from MvC3 to Ultimate. His full charge now will convert some of his specal moves to other moves, a new lv1 hyper move used to finish a combo or to lock enemy in the air, some other change such as his lighting strike no longer has the upper version, his infamous lighting loop got heavy nerf (still useable, but with far less damage than before) and his Twin dream has more delay

However much people consider it a fighting game, Zero and Megaman EXE were in Onimusha Blade Warriors

I always wanted to see a fighting game that added both the Zero and X series versions of Zero with their own movesets and have unique interactions with each other. Like for example Zero series Zero telling X series Zero about his eventual fate after the Maverick wars and his original body(the x series body) getting stolen by Dr weil and being turned into this being known as Omega. Imagine X series Zero’s horrified reaction to the amount of Deaths the Elf Wars caused and finding out that in the future earth is pretty much a post apocalyptic wasteland minus a couple of areas

So, aside from appearing in Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix, he appeared in Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters, as a cameo (in the ending for Bass). Also, as others have noted, you left out Onimusha Blade Warriors. Zero was a strong fighter with reliance on his saber and buster, with one of the most damaging uses of the lightning orbs (would give his trademark Z with a three-slash strike). That said, pretty nifty video, going into details about the ins and outs of his various uses, colorations, etc. Very good.

Only now I learned Zero's first playable appearence was in SvC, and as an SNK and MMZ fan, it makes me very happy

6:24 there's a funny story about that X's Costume, X was actually supposed to be a playable character in MVC3, but due to the earthquakes and tsunami that happened in Japan in 2011, it wasn't possible to do it, all that remained was X's Model which was completed before that 2011 tragedy, they put in the game as a costume because that's all what was left of X in the game and they didn't wanted to waste that model.

I played all of them, and love all of them. Zero in SVC:Chaos is still the scariest one, not just his aura is darker but also his movement is so fast. Zero in MVC3 has the best graphic and effects.

Megaman Zero in fighting game aren't broken, he's lore accurate. Same goes to Vergil.

Great video but I have some of additions to your TvC segment. Zero has one of the strongest level 3 supers in the game, excelling at punishing grounded bursts and giving that little bit of damage at the end of combos to kill. His Sougenmu, while not in the same camp of insanity as in Marvel 3 and infinite, is strong in it's own right. It's a strong a way to chip out and checkmate opponents, as an extremely safe super to DHC into, and to give Zero strong block strings and generally pick up his slack as a solo character should his partner die. His biggest weakness, much more so than his health is when Zero has to fight solo. While he still has access to his top tier neutral without an assist his conversions and mix become much more difficult, though not impossible to achieve. Zero with a good assist is a much scarier threat than Zero without one. As far as good assists for him Ryu is very strong as you mentioned, as is Morrigans. They both greatly strengthen his neutral, as well as allowing for easy to set up cross up set ups, and making his already noteworthy corner carry even better. Other assists also work. Saki's, while you forgo neutral benefits and cross ups on most characters, sets ups for easy unblockables that force your opponent into dangerous situations if they try and escape. Joe the Condor's assist can do a great job of corralling your opponent, preventing them from using a lot of common escape options and forcing them to deal with Zero being directly in their face, which is exceptionally dangerous if Zero has red life. Even if they might not have the best assist for Zero, he can still be an excellent partner for anyone who wants to spend a lot of meter. Zero coming in, heavily damaging the opponents team, and then tagging out or dying while giving your anchor all the meter in the world to finish cleaning up the shop is a legitimate gameplan, so don't be afraid to get creative with your anchor if you're playing Zero. Speaking of assists, his is nothing to scoff at. Its not meta defining by any means but its a very effective anti air in a game lacking a lot of conventional anti air tools. Its kinda like a diet Chun Li assist, which is MUCH higher praise than it sounds. His anti airs are also quite strong in comparison with much of the cast, particularly his 5A and 3C launcher. Not enough was said about how ridiculous his air game is. Zero, like most of the cast gets access to two jumps, the first of which can be a super jump, and 2 air dashes. When you combine this with his teleports, and his air buster, and his jump b, and his pizza cutter, pinning down his landing and punishing him can be nearly impossible, and it gives him an honestly unfair wealth of ways both to approach unpredictably as well as to lame people out. Also his A teleport in the air fast fall sets up for insanely strong high low mix on incoming. The biggest thing this video forgot to mention however were the strength of Zero's baroque unblockables. Its very complicated and I'm not the best guy to explain it, but in TvC if you have red life you can use any non attacking move or any attack that leaves you slightly negative to set up an unblockable combo. Trust me its less broken than it sounds, but Zero makes better use of it than anyone else in the game I'd agrue. His grounded a and b teleports and his 2b set up for it perfectly. Even if he didn't have cross ups, even if he doesn't have an assist, even if he didn't have high low options, it would not matter. If Zero has any amount of red life he is going to open you up. In conclusion, Zero is cool and top tier in TvC so you should play him and it.

I personally think his MMZ repression is the most accurate, weeker body but OP soul... Makes sense to have him be a high requirement character to get good at...

I think the only fighting games that Zero was in that were missing were Onimusha Blade Warriors, Project G, and "technically" Smash Ultimate as an assist trophy but not playable

I know Mvci isn't popular but am surprised u didnt mention any of the moves Zero gained on Mvci To mention a few Rakuhouha, Hyouretsuzan, F-Splasher, C-Sword and Raijinshou. People love to hate on mvci but If u are Zero Fan u owed to yourself to try this iteration of the character.

Yeah Umvc3 Zero is literally the best point character in the game. At the highest levels, he can 1 touch off almost any hit confirm. Midscreen or corner carry.

Still so upset he never got a chance in smash (he was my number one choice and was so upset he was stuck in assist hell) I literally would’ve rerouted my entire control scheme to fit what I played him with in the X games (it’s what I did for MvC3

The fighting games that involved him are awesome but my only issue that irritates me is him being short as a size of a child. I mean if you are playing mmz2 or mmz3 and stood next to Autroche (the tallest Reploid resistance), you will notice how close they are in height. Note : From what I searched according to the mega man wiki, Elpizo's page describes him as a *tall* young man and we notice that he slightly shorter than Zero.

Zero's been in too many fighting games and X had been on the sidelines for far too long.

I love Zero and X but I was never a fan on how they began changing the appearance for them. Cool characters but it ruined it for me on the fragile/feminine appearances after the X series.
