I do think big link is a +1 for zss. He actually can’t atk zss or push advantage, she’s just too fast. He has a rly big speed problem and zss takes the most advantage of tht. If zss gets defensive or has a lead his only option to move her out of a corner is bomb, anything else can just get dash backed. The boomerang is a good anti air but most of the time it’ll be used to keep zss away and be too far away to get killing or damaging combos. He may kill early in this matchup but has little ways of dealing dmg or pushing advantage, even off stage. And when it comes to a defensive stale mate zss will just nuetral him to death. -I’m an educated and subscribed btw

Like this feels more like ‘how hard do I have to try when I fight this character’ more than an actual matchup chart lmao Ask any Inkling, Pichu or Joker player if they have a +2 matchup (60:40 is a very significant advantage) what are they gonna say? What's considered advantage and disadvantage state in this game? Somehow I don't think it means the same thing as in Street Fighter.

Advantage is mostly if you're in a better position then your opponent, for example, you are ledge trapping them, juggeling them, at center stage, etc, or, for example, luigi's advantage is really good because he can combo and kill you easily when ge gets in your face, but his neutral (both players having distance, trying to hit the other player) is kinda bad and disadvantage means too. Disadvantage is off--stage, at the ledge, being above your opponent etc. Its kinda hard to explain, sorry if this isn't clear.

Honestly I don't think MK at +1 makes much sense at all. He said it was because they have a similar playstyle or something... But what I think that really boils down to is that she just outright wins so many interactions where MK would normally be in his wheelhouse, that he has to change his game-plan significantly to stand a chance.

The -2 should be -1 and the -1 should be -0.5. ZSS is really good at playing aggressive, rushdown while she can also play campy and passive so she will never be fully out of luck against characters and have a completely losing match up. Great mobility and flip jump which is basically I-frames in a can

One thing i feel doctor mario does have against zss, is his up smash, which gets predictable and inconsistent. But yeah, the match up sucks for doc

Really the only thing I don't agree with is Marth. I think that matchup is even. Semantics, I know, but if you have an optimal marth playing an optimal ZSS it's gonna be a bit rough for both parties. You can catch late Fairs with ZSS fairs and zairs, you can punish dancing blade float with side b off stage and on stage if you space it right. But Marth can catch late nairs and use uptilt to call out empty hops, upsmash for flip jump and his back air has just enough disjoint to beat zss backair. Marth is woefully underrated because of his tipper mechanic being harder, but it just incentivizes Marth players to play more reserved and reactive, which most people don't do because it's not as fun. One day a patient Marth is gonna come around and make everyone go "Oh yeah the character is really good, he's just harder to play" which is absolutely a downside, but affects that character's ranking and not necessarily his match ups. The potential is there, it just has to be tapped.

I'm glad Marss put Pokem Trainer as -2 for ZSS. He lost to Tweek's PT in Low tier city, Big house, and smash con.

I mean, to be fair, this is also Tweek. Just because marss lost doesnt MEAN its -2. I mean, Samsora struggles vs tweek too but peach doesnt lose to PT -2. Same goes for most of the other top 10 players. Otherwise, every char would lose to joker like -2 or worse just because basically nobody beats Leo.

@@darknessdevil2657 I mean, top players disagree with each other all the time on what match ups are. Like I doubt Tweek thinks the MU is +2 for PT. Its probably still losing for ZSS, but -2 just seems like a bit much.

It’s pretty impressive that he won genesis seven with a 3 stock against not only the best player in the world in general, but the best player in the world with joker which is a -2 matchup. Truly an underrated smasher and an inspirational player

I am curious why Pikachu is a negative 2 when esam struggles so much against you. Like you would think that the results of the top ranked Pikachu vs the top ranked zss would match where it sits on the match up chart but its kinda the opposite. Doesn't make much sense to me.

to be honest, I think some of these match ups arent quite as hard as Marss put it to be. But its really hard to say.

Honestly, despite being so good, ESAM plays super dumb a lot of the time and definitely has pre-tilt vs players that beat him often...so it's honestly hard to say just based on their Vs record
