Welcome to Episode 17 of Monday Gunday, a series of gun/gear reviews by the team here at Tier 1 Concealed. We will be reviewing new and popular guns twice a month and scoring them according to our 10-category scoring system, worth a total of 100 points (10 points each). We will score:

We will also perform some common shooting standards with each gun, such as the Bill Drill at 7 yards, a 3-reload-3 at 7 yards, and a 10 yard B8 test.

I don’t see myself changing out my EDC anytime soon. Shadow systems MR920 Elite with a Holosun EPS MRS Streamlight TLR7-A a Johnny Glock flat trigger in my safariland concealment holster is perfection for me 🔥🔥🔥great content 💪🏽💪🏽

Metal frame review with mag well would be awesome. OZ9 are the striker fire , point and shoot, version of a premier 2011. Can’t wait till ZEV comes out with their 43X version

My oz9 have about 10k through it and been through multiple classes and beat hard and never had a hiccup! The coating is totally warn off but just makes it look cool

On your reloads if you put your index finger on the side of the mag pointing up when you are inserting it will help you reload.

Have not heard stellar things about the Zevs with higher round counts. Not sure how credible it is, but has made me hesitant on getting one. LOVE their Glock slides. No issues on any of the slides.

Honestly the best way to own one is to get a zev slide, use oem glock upper parts and get their MBK and lower frames. The reliability is there and if you look around for deal you can get this built for 800-1000

I know a lot of people (myself included) have had a lot of issues with the v1. I ended up swapping out the v1 for a v2 through Zev, and all the issues I have had are gone. Can’t vouch for others - but mine is absolutely solid, but only about 1k rounds so far.

We have also has great luck with the V2's, collectively probably 20-30k rounds through 4 different V2's. Hopefully they're all just as good.

I've owned 2 OZ 9's - Both would jam up so badly I had to send both back to Zev to get looked at. One of them I used in a Pistol course and the slide cracked and I had to send back to Zev for replacement. Zev weaponsmiths even told me I had to change the recoil spring every 1500 to 2k rounds. Zev seduces you with the look of these Glock Clones, but my experience on two of these "Gen 1" guns is they are NOT reliable whatsoever. Side note, Zev customer service was great.

I’ve had about 2k rounds on my oz9c with a ramjet and afterburner comp, no issues I might have got lucky idk.

Same here. Had 2 and nothing but issues. Sold both and never looked back. Complete garbage 🗑️

My experience with Zev was similar. The OZ9 and 6.5 small frame rifle from them were not reliable at all. I’ve also seen multiple barrel lugs sheer on the V1 OZ9. All flash no substance.

2k is nothing, you are just past break in. My P365 passed 2k in around 6 months, and my shooting frequency has increased since I started my current job.@Hobiee90m3

Mine has been reliable, no problem, no malfunction, over 3k rounds, in my experience glock perfected

You mention your recoil management. Bend your arms a little and don’t lock your elbows out. It will help with recoil management.

So if I got the builders kit and grip module I can throw a Gen 5 norsso or Killer Innovation slide/barrel on it? Or would it need to be a Gen 3 since it uses a Gen 3 RSA?

I love my Zevs. Personally, I prefer them to my Staccatos. I carry one on duty daily and have never paid more than a grand for one. Great guns

There have been, more so with early OZ9's. But that's all very subjective, which is why we don't rate guns based off of reliability. Too many variables to make those claims.

Avoid at all costs. They're not worth the time and money to fix them. Tier 1 actually said "we don't rate guns off reliability." Wow,I love their holsters,but they are beyond biased with Zev.
