I don’t think it takes away from Luffy and the work he has put into awakening his fruit, as him getting beaten to death isn’t what made his awakening impactful. It was more so his will and the representation of his freedom which achieved awakening, as he proved to kaido his freedom is what allowed him to manifest Nika. There are also parallels to Bonney with Nika in so far as she is carries on Kuma’s legacy and the freedom he sought to impart on Bonney’s personal journey. I think her being able to use this form is really strong from a narrative standpoint as she is basically achieving the dream kuma had for her considering Nika literally is the embodiment of freedom which her manifesting that form reflects. Also from like a strength perspective, she will likely use the form differently and not as effectively as luffy considering he has stronger Haki which distinguishes his form to Bonney who has no haki feats anywhere near his.

No I don’t think this takes away from Luffy and his work. Bonnys whole story has been about wanting to be free and to be like sun god nika oda made bonney become exactly like nika. Luffy isn’t even the first Nika there was Joyboy and whoever else before him. The fruit alone isn’t what makes Luffy special . She also cannot use Haki or other things only Luffy would know. That’s like saiyan when trunks showed up as a super saiyan it ruined it for Goku. No it led to a good future of possibilities. Kuma can die happy knowing what Luffy and Bonney have achieved

Nah distorted future allows her to transform into a hypothetical counterpart of herself temporarily. She sets the criteria of which the hypothetical her is different and becomes that version of herself she just envisioned. It's not a copy or facsimile, she's the real deal for as long as distorted future lasts. She's free baby.

Okay, I now remember how it happened. But it wasn't Bonney, it was given to her mom. It didn't work and she was sick so they just dumped her. That's when she contacted kuma and told him about bonney. But when gunny escaped he knew he couldn't mold her psyche to what was necessary for his plans so decided to go scorched earth and traumatise her into submission and disillusionment

@@DonaldRumpusDumpus I like the gear 5 transformation. But I liked the gear 4 transformations even more cause it was a result of brains and hardwork instead of the old I almost died but got saved by godly powers. We have seen this with ultra instinct and sage of six paths, the only difference is that gear 5 is goofy. And the goofiness makes it stand out positively but I feel like I won't be seeing much of gear 4 from now on.
