Welcome to this updated maximum realism tutorial for the ZIBO Boeing 737-800X in version 3.33. After many substantial updates to this aircraft I decided to do another complete and extensive tutorial covering all settings and realistic procedures, including a detailed look at the AviTab, the FMC setup, a full cold & dark startup and then flying from Calgary Intl (CYYC) to Vancouver Intl (CYVR).
I'm no real pilot, but I have plenty of simulation experience in the 737NG and also learned a lot via the internet, so I hope this tutorial will improve your 737 knowledge as well and maybe show you some things you didn't know yet. Please enjoy :)

Just subscribed! quite possibly the best video on the tube on the Zibo. There are a lot of Tubers out there (pilots included) that rattle steps and and rush through everything at speeds that make their videos impossible to follow. Thank you for taking the time on each step.

Beherztes Aufsetzen ist keine schlechte Landung. Man muss nicht immer auf den Greaser hinarbeiten. Anflug und Vorbereitung waren gut und man sollte nicht immer auf die Landerate alleine schielen. Schönes Video.

Thanks a lot for the updated video. This one caught my eye as I have flown this route many times in the past. I think that this is probably the most breath taking flight in real life as while the flight over the mountains is pretty kool the descent and arrival to CYVR are awesome particularly if you are doing a 08 approach. On a night flight the Delta is a truly spectacular sight. Thanks again for posting.

When landing the zibo normally... you're on speed and on glideslope, close the throttle at the 20 foot callout and pitch up smoothly to 7.5 degrees... and wait... and wait... and your touch down will be like butter every time, about -100 fpm or less.

There are some shorter tutorials out there, HOWEVER I love how well you explained the process especially showing where you're finding the information off SimBrief. Personally that part is what I've been missing, which has led me to many "AHA" moments watching your video - so thank you! I've learned much watching your video, and have cleaned up my FMC process considerably, and the flight plan info makes SO much more sense :)

Haha thanks and sorry at the same time ;) Yeah this tutorial (and also the plane) may not be suited for complete flight sim beginners, some general knowledge about aviation, airliners, navigation, systems etc. should be acquired first ;) Best to start out with small GA planes.

I would like to endorse all the comments; an excellent, well paced tutorial. Very entertaining and informative. Could you please provide some feedback about frame rates - how the various add-ons are affected. I find using the default 737-800, I am getting high twenties at the airport, however, as I climb the frames rates drop to the low twenties and below twenty. For this reason I am reluctant to get the add-on aircraft, scenery and enhanced push-back etc. But many thanks, once again for taking the time and trouble to produce such wonderful tutorials.

Thanks a lot John! Well it's hard to tell which addons affect frame rates and to which extent, because every system is different of course. I'm running most of the addons that you can find in my "Mush-have freeware" video, but for me it's mostly clouds that have a great effect on FPS. I don't know the FPS difference between the default and the ZIBO 738, as I never used the default one lol. I would greatly suggest you to try out the ZIBO as it's free and adds a wealth of features! The best ZIBO mod video in circulation, many thanks from all us simmers. How do you get individual airport charts into Avitab, When I download the charts I get the full set and do not seem able to get an independent arrival or departure chart. There are very probably easy ways to do this and I apologise for being such a dunce.

Thanks a lot for your kind words, I really appreciate! Regarding the charts, for the tutorial I decided to create individual PDF files for every single chart that was needed for the flight. In general I would recommend a Navigraph subscription though, for easy charts access within the Avitab on demand and having them all available when needed. But I guess in this case I just took a screenshot of a chart and converted the image into PDF format ;) Hope this helps.

I will wait for FSX2020 to come out since Xplane takes a Quantum computer to render somewhat decent. My laptop only has 128Mb VRam Intel620 built into the I7 .. I allocated an extra 1Gb VideoRam as virtual memory out my 16Gb total Ram. The generic Xplane 737 flights OKay, but not the Zibo modified 737/8/9 with all the overhead code.

I usually leave the planes at turn around states as it is more common in real life, but I might do a complete shutdown at some point.

Yeah first I had freeware scenery for CYVR installed but there were autogen roads all over the airport, so I removed it and the default scenery is pretty detailed as well :)

Thank you for this excellent video. Just one thing: you have mied up the EFB with AVITAB. The AVITAB is just one single app within the EFB. E. g. the PA System or the Ground Service app have nothing to do with AVITAB

Thanks, usually I also land the plane better lol ;) Regarding 3D passengers, there's an option in the EFB of the ZIBO. Maybe it's still working, I didn't try it for a very long time.

hey,there is vatmap which is free on mobile which can show most graphs for airports and the one hes using is navigraph which needs payed subscribtion

Can anyone help? I have been trying to get zibo 737x to work in xplane11 for months and different problems and bugs keep coming up making xplane impossible to use. I cannot afford £80 for a payware aircraft and zibo seems to be the only solution. At the start of playing plane 11 (mid 2019) it worked perfectly but I didn’t no how to fly I nearly had the hang of the zibo 737 when bugs came up making it unusable. I have reinstalled several times on steam and even reset windows 10 but no luck. I am running out of options!

Thank you, I'm very glad you like it :) Yeah I'm pretty happy with the FPS (above 30 usually) even though I don't have a high end PC. You can see the specs and my graphics settings in the description.

@@SimulationChannelDeluxe Thank you ! I have almost the same specs in my PC except that I have only 8GB RAM but I have an Intel I7-6700HQ 2.60GHz. I think your processor is better than mine or equivalent. Your FPS rate is very great ! I have the plugin 3jFPS-wizard11 and I run X-Plane 11 below 30FPS when the scenery is not heavy. But when a heavy scenery is loaded I runwith only 12-15FPS... Do you think that 16GB RAM is necessary to run X-Plane 11 with more FPS or not ? Thank you very much ! :))

@@chopin_42 To be honest I don't know how important RAM is for X-Plane, but 8GB might be a bit too little, especially when using HD Mesh. The most important thing is a capable graphics card I believe, and one should be careful not to overdo the settings :) Otherwise I don't know why my frames are that good, sorry.

Very well explained and flown. 737 needs very little flare....avoiding the float...I fly a lot of GA and used to the flare but quite a bit different when in the big stuff ....Always wondered whether it is good practice to program arrival at deparure? What did you hit to engage TOGA...you might give a thought to coping with a few system failures in a video...thanks

Yeah I flared way too much this time, but landing in the dark was a new experience for me :) On such a short flight I think it's fine to punch the arrival into the FMC, on very long (transatlantic) flights it wouldn't make too much sense I guess. But during my last ZIBO flight to San Francisco for example I had to change the arrival on the fly. I have the TOGA button mapped on my Saitek Throttle Quadrant, but as The Flying Emu said (and I showed during takeoff) you can click the MIC switch for TOGA.

It's not an "official" feature of the AviTab, it was quite a fiddly task to accomplish that. I made screenshots of the SimBrief paperwork, cut them out and "glued" them together so I had one very long .png image file. I then converted it to pdf and loaded it into the AviTab via the charts directory. Cheers

Hi fisrt to all thanks for the tutorial, now i have a problem with the FMC, i cannot type or enter any data there and it is always showing "invalid entry" on my Nav DATA i have 180717108 please help me on this . I did follow everything on your video until minute 10, then i cannot type anything in there for the "REF AIRPORT", i am very new on this simulator, thanks again

Thanks, glad that you like the vid! Regarding X-Life and CYYC, I created the ground routes myself with the included Airport Editor by X-Life. That was quite some project ;)
