I like how Bob and Rita kids always mention the importance of their mother in their interviews. Cedella, Stephen, Ziggy or Sharon…they hold her in such a high regard. Rita Marley is really the unsung heroine in the Bob Marley legacy. Upmost respect to her.

Bob never performed much shows in Jamaica either. Foreigners love and appreciate us more than our own people. Sad but very true.
@vincentbrown1872

Such a negative and ignorant comment is not only untrue but continues the "self-hate " many Black People repeat on a daily basis! Not performing in Jamaica is not indicative of " foreigners loving and appreciating us more " Your comment. Not performing much in Jamaica for his dad had much to do with economics and politics. Both of their music is loved by Black People all over the World as much as, and more than foreigners. What I wish is for Black People to stop the " self-hate ". We need the " self-love " necessary to combat the White oppression and racism that control and dominate our World.

Ziggy said something about himself which was and is profoundly true for his father Bob’ Marley’s music as long as his music lives on: and that is, what he is doing is bigger than himself, that it’s about humanity and he does not have selfish ambitions. His father demonstrated that all over the world through the messages in his music and the fact that he addressed the issue of Africans especially concerning apartheid system and calling it out at a time when principalities and powers was not really tolerant of anyone arousing the awareness of Africans.

Respect to the children of BM. Jamaica a funny place to be for those who achieve big international followings---as I was once told by a veteran Jamaican artist, 'Jamaica not a good place to be well-known'. And consider the fact these days JA music has little if anything to do with Reggae---after all, at this point, 1980s Rub-A-Dub is GRAND PARENT'S MUSIC, if you are a young 20-something on the island. May Ziggy live good, and carry music around the world.

Bob marleys children who do music are all talented in there own rights,and its really a phenomenon how 1 man can produce so much replicas of himself,as they talk and look like him,but in all there own separate music journey and performances,you can always see a trait from there father come out naturally,but Damien marley is the only one that really dedicated himself from a baby to do nothing else but music and he is definitely the most talented out of all the sons.

As the oldest, Ziggy has been instrumental along with his mom in keeping a one love family among his siblings. His beloved Dad established timeless music that impacted the industry worldwide. Ziggy should be true to himself, and his family, and not listen to small-minded or jealous people who don't understand the impact and purpose of the Marley family's journey.
