I am by no means a FreshReviews expert, but based on what I have watched from him, it is more about soundstange (placement), clarity, and details. So definitely not bass focused as it would mask mids and make the stage smaller (potentially), but not anti-bass either. He does really thorough reviews, and is spot on with his observations, and is a "fresh" voice for the audiophile audience that also likes gaming. Chris, great review as per usual, glad you are feeling better.

I also have noticed that Fresh Reviews generally is spot on when he separately describes how well IEMs perform for music instead of for gaming. This why I watch his reviews even though I am not a gamer.

@@KiwiNickG I think that the Arete will perform well for classical music since its tuning is very similar to the Performer 5.

Fresh Reviews is a gaming reviewer who reviews iems from that perspective which makes it very interesting to see him get a collab on iems. This is tuned for fps game use for sure based on reviews of his that I've watched before

Seems like an area of the hobby that used to be more crowded, with more activity - that $250-400 range. As was recently discussed in a YT video by DMS discussing the drift within the hobby towards the budget territory; or the much more expensive. Thus, this set excites me!

Coming to a DUSK-like tuning separately as a conclusion is quite an amazing accomplishment in my opinion. This seems like a set that I'll be interested in. Good job for Zigaat and Fresh Reviews.

Thanks for the context. It's always informative the way you provide intent for tuning on different IEMs. I find that not a lot of channels will actually explain that certain types of tuning is intentional to the specific set and audience. For myself, I like a set with more bass, but I appreciate understanding what sets are intended for my target and those which are for other preferences.

I hope a lot of people buy this IEM and support FreshReviews. Totally respect the guy in his video about the Arete and he says "it could be better (in this area)" and he gives comparisons to other iems on his "wall hack". Muchu respecto.
