I get it's from his voice actor, but it's so surreal hearing such a supportive message from a character that would actively and intentionally make your anxiety worse

I came here thinking this was going to be a shitpost of Zim screaming at you at the top of his lungs and stayed for the animation and learning an actual anxiety coping skill from the literal last person (totally not alien) I was expecting it from. I love this. I needed this. Thank you 💜

I was expecting him to yell at me as a joke? Like audio of him screaming "You're lying!" Or "You're after my robot bee!" - The classic lines he has where he freaks out. I wasn't expecting good advice.

Sometimes I forget that Richard Horvitz is basically just using his normal voice when he's voice acting. It sounds like such a character voice.

I've seen the original video a long time ago. I didn't think it would become known enough for someone to animate it. This is nice. :) Another thing about this I find awesome is that this is very closely if not exactly like how I imagine Zim in my series when he is reformed / de-brainwashed. Since his first instinct at birth was loving and hugging, I believe he's naturally a sweetheart without the PAK download thing that irkens are given when they're 2 minutes old. (Referencing a written and unfinished episode that was supposed to show some lore.)

I really like this video, great job with it! This isn't a critique of the video or anything, but the same voice actor voiced Raz from Psychonauts, which has a pretty heavy mental health theme, at least in the second game, so like, this voiceline would work REALLY well for Raz, and seeing it come out of Invader Zim instead is VERY funny to me!

i met him at a con this year and i had no money for a photo or signing, i just saw his line was short and jumped in to say hi. i didnt expect to get a little choked up because all i wanted to do was say a little "hi you were very influential in my childhood thank you" but he was so nice and shook my hand and complimented my cosplay. very sweet guy, im so happy for him getting back into the public eye of animation!

I've been struggling with my own anxiety quite a bit lately, & while I've been figuring my own grounding techniques, it was just really nice to come across this. We can all use the extra reassurance we're going to be okay. Also, just further confirmation on how awesome a guy Richard Horvitz is. I met him at a convention once & I was astonished at just how funny & sweet he is.💕

I actually really like this because I remember struggling with confidence a lot as a teen and one of the things I remember realizing is that confidence, at least in some form, is merely the faith you have in yourself. There was something revelatory about that for me. That I just had to trust in myself to be able to handle the situations I was put into and that I knew that if I was doing something, like say something competitive, that I had done my best to put myself in a position to allow myself to do well. In this instance, I think the way this definition of anxiety and my definition of confidence line up is really synergistic. If anxiety is about imagined struggles then confidence is about mastered experiences.
