@@theplaymakerno1 if you see , you can easily understand how tough marking he has faced when he was played for juventas.that makes him stronger and creative midfielder on his generation.not only him many French players of 1998 genration played in italy.in 1998 defence was strong but midfield heavily dependent on zizou.defence lead by thuram was strong and midfield lead by zizou makes France stronger.thuram also played in Basically zizou was genius but juventas makes zizou like killing machine to the opponent.

I have a question, if someone could help me with some answers please : ) I was a little young to witness Zidane's time at Juventus when it was happening but how would that (peak?) Zidane compare with Kaka at his peak, 2004-2007 with Milan, which I did witness and was an absolute thing of beauty, elegant, skilful, direct, dangerous at any point on the field, run like the wind. The other comparison is Nedved at his peak with Juventus (Say 2002- 2007) who was incredibly skillful, hardworking, everywhere on the pitch, great at every aspect of the game. How would you compare the three, great midfielders/AMs in Italy ? Long live serie a! Thank you very much : )

I would put Kaká a hair below Zidane & Nedved, between those two I'd take Nedved for consistency and Zidane for superior moments of pure brilliance and technical skill. Can't go wrong with any of the three but personally I take Nedved. Too bad Kaká had a short peak compared to the other two.

Elias Queen I saw them all, watching them extensively as I am a serie A fan but also attending several games while they were on the pitch. Zidane is clearly the best of all three...and I am a die hard AC Milan fan. Zidane’s peak was reached at Euro 2000, where he was unstoppable, his technique, vista, elegance, pass, shot, free kick were astonishing and what made it his peak was his speed (just see when he runs almost all the field in the semifinal against Portugal 2000). Later (2002-2006) he compensated his speed decrease by positioning and leadership. Kakà and Nedved were both brilliant players but Zidane is in another tier; he is in the top ten of all time players along with Pelé, Maradona, Messi, Ronaldo, C.Ronaldo, Cruyff, Garrincha, Di Stefano, Baggio....etc you know the best rule of thumb to know how great a player is? It’s when you find yourself or other fans of opposite teams recognising his greatness beyond your team preferences. I remember watching games just for Zidane

The thing is, like almost every other midfielders, you really cant distinguished his peak cause he almost play the same on the entirety of his career. And midfielders generally hard to judged in terms of ability. Probably 98 - 02 was his peak years as he won almost everything in that period and really one of the standout midfielders in the world.

No, it is the opposite. At the end of his career, he got very bad 2004 2005 and 2006 (apart from the German World Cup 2006) terrible years for Zidane...he played well just until 2002...Maybe you are too you and did NOT lived those years or don't live in Europe

@@MicheleBize to be fair i didn't follow real Madrid 2004 - 2006 .. so maybe you are correct, but maybe he lacked the motivation at those years but regained it at the world cup, maybe the motivation was it's his last show. For me he retired at his peak because what we saw at the world cup was majestic! Based on what i saw i thought he could have played football to his 40's.

Zidane peaked between 2000 - 2003 at Real. At Juve he lacked real consistency and his time there was a stepping stone for Real Madrid

I would beg to differ i think Zidane was better at Juve just surrounded by better players at Real. He was at Juve when he was 24 - 29 years old, which are peak years for any footballer. The last 2 years at Juve he was almost unplayable hence Madrid paying the world record fee at 29 years old.

The peak is when Zidan played the 2006 world cup.. It's amazing how he got much better at the end of his career.. He retired in his peak which is something rare in any field of work or sports.
