Zip FireStarters - Test & Opinion

I have used Zip for years.
Not only as a means to start my camp fires mostly but also to get my BBQ Coals going.
I keep them in various spots throughout my camping gear and fire starting kits because of how dependable they are.
I am sure you guys have heard of Zip and if not then you have been missing out.
Zip has been around for longer than anyone reading this or that has seen this video.
If that doesn't show you they are doing something right i don't know what will.
Hands down i can assure you all this company is not only Amazing it produces some of the finest Firestarters i have used thus far.

I've never seen the cube ones before, but I've used the white brick shaped ones many times. I took one of those Tylenol tubes with the screw on lid and crushed up the white brick into a powder. If you used an old prescription bottle you'd also have enough room for a few matches and piece of striker paper. Then when you want to start a fire, pour out a spoonful onto a leaf or piece of bark. At least that's what I used to do, until a snarky comment made by my daughter made me question the wisdom of carrying around a tube of white powder. 😅

@@JBOutdoorsAndMore take a couple feet of duct tape and wrap it around the pill bottle or tube. Then not only do you have a bit of tape on hand, but a few inches of tape torn into thin shreds and balled up makes a great flame extender. 🔥

I like the different type of fire starters you review. Great for camping for sure. Was it me or did the second one seem to have a lot of black smoke due to the chemicals? The first seemed to burn fairly clean but that could be the wind and camera view. Nice job!

Thank you very much Scott. To your question yes they both produced black smoke the cube being the less of the 2. Now visually looks to be a problem but i have not had any problems with these firestarters when it came to prepping a fire to cook over. Also these are not something I would use by themselves to cook with just to get coals ready or a campfire started. They are definitely a joy to have on hand especially when your not wanting to mess around and want a fire or to start cooking NOW! I as always appreciate you and your support scott.
