NOTE: No reload knife throwing is dangerous and can cause permanent eye damage or other serious injury. Using eye protection and duller knives makes it safer.
FULL REVIEW OF THE KNIVES
I’m a full fan of the French knife maker Zitoon (zitoonknives.fr). He got an eye for aesthetics and since he’s top thrower himself he knows how to create top throwing knives.
In summary, both of these implements - the ”No reload 6mm” and the ”Big no reload” - are perfect. Or at least, almost perfect.
The steel (Hardox 450) could be better. The Hardox 500 is more durable but it’s currently unavailable for the maker. Hardox 450 is the only drawback of these knives and it shows in the price - for a high perfomance daggers these are cheap! And to this must be added that the knives last a lifetime IF they are thrown into separate targets. After three sessions one or two tips had suffered clearly but after a broken tip has been sharpened with a file the rest of the tip holds up well. So only the peak of the tip is vulnerable on hardox 450 (my observation).
These knives are not only for no reload. They are for all instinctive throwing (no spin, half spin) and they feel great in hand, thanks to their excellent finish.
NO RELOAD 6MM
25cm, 6mm, 210g. Performs very similarly than the Devil claw light which is Zitoon’s another top knife. Easy to throw. Flies straight. Does what you want it to do.
(The version is also available on 5mm which should be your choice if you are a hardcore no reloader with multiple knives in both hands.)
BIG NO RELOAD
25cm, 6mm, 250g. Eventhough the knife weighs 250g it feels like a 230g knife due to the slim design. Added weight brings stability. Wide handle makes it very comfortable in hand and if you use fedin grip, the no spin is especially very nice.
