Zoda’s Revenge: StarTropics II, Mega Man 6 and Wario’s Woods were the only 3 games released for the NES in 1994 in the US, and they were also the last three released for the NES in the US before it was discontinued! RIP Nintendo Entertainment System (1985-1994), and NOW you’re no longer playing with power!

Nintendo has been like this for years. NES games shifting over to the SNES, while they slowly phase out the NES.

The StarTropics games remind me heavily of the Konami Goonies games, enough that I always imagined they were made by the same developer studio or the same people. It also has a ring of Blaster Master, although that was more from localization than anything else.

This hits the nostalgia... Startropics 1 was my first game. Never beat Startropics 2. Still, both are excellent games.

It's alright. Not as interesting as the first game perhaps, but it's solid enough for a playthrough. Especially fun to see those very late games around 30 years after the console's retirement!

The franchise StarTropics sadly was discontinued and never trying made remakes or remastered this games and don't make references from StarTropics as trophies in the franchise Super Smash Bros.

By all rights it should have been a really successful series! The first game did well enough to get the sequel. What absolutely hurt it is when they released it. I get why the 3 ‘94 releases happened-they were trying to re-kickstart the NES with the then brand new top loader (Weirdly enough I’ve never seen one of those in person!). It was just everyone had long since moved on to 16 bit. They should honestly ideally have moved the project to the Super NES. There I think it would have at least been a modest success. If Nintendo was heart set on a couple last NES hurrahs releasing it a year to year and a half earlier would have been a better choice.

The original is a bit better with it's "Aliens in the South Seas" plot but I like this one quite a bit. Probably just nostalgia for myself being a late era NES holdout

I have NO idea why it’s not! That one is stumping me! Thought sure both games wouks have gone up on there together. If not immediately very shortly apart. It’s a Nintendo developed and published game so I’m really not getting why. I could see if there were some objectionable content but as far as I’m seeing here there isn’t any.

It wouldn't be all that hard as like with the 1st one's re-release on the Wii-U, all they have to do is change Tetrominos™ to Blocks to avoid paying the Tetris Company to use their likeness/copyright. Unless of course Nintendo just decides to pony up the few $ that it'll most likely take considering they already have a working relationship with them what with them having Tetris 99 on the Switch and hwatnot.

The Last First Party NES Games were on a decline due to the popularity of the SNES. Better sure this game is challenging but great story cutscenes and time travel.

This game blows it for totally failing to understand what made the first game good: the tile based movement, focus on puzzles, and precision required to succeed in combat. By focusing on combat and allowing diagonal movement the game totally loses it's identity. It's like those Legend of Zelda randomizers where the entire appeal of the experience is stripped out.
