Your videos make me come back to reality. I grew up fishing and hunting and just being outdoors. The last year or so, I've drifted away from that and tried to get into the Hotrod scene, but I soon realized that it's not for me, I'd rather spend money on fishing tackle than building a hotrod. It's just one of those phases we go through trying to figure out who we are and what we wanna do in life. Towards the end of the video you made me realize who I am and what I love to do. I used some tennis raquet grip wrap on the spinning rods. I work on racquets so this material is all around me. The diffetent colors are neat too. Good idea on the twine. A new oportunity to try. Nice.

Binding reels to rods is not for me - my reels & rods all have their own storage bags, and sometimes I need to use the same reel on different rods, but hey, everyone to their own! Nice one Marty! FYI, you can open the bail arm of your reel and simply remove the spool so that you line is out of the way. Just put a rubber band around the spool to avoid your line going everywhere. Then affter you have wrapped your reel seat, simply open the bail again and replace the spool. Just in case you have to wrap another :)

Try using a thumbtack to hold the loop centered on the cork.

have a friend who did this with the material you use to wrap hockey stick handle. Gonna try this with paracord to make a fly rod handle thicker as I have big hands.

I guess if it works for you great. As an avid fisherman I remove my reels monthly and completely break them down to clean/ oil etc. Just doesnt seem worth the time for me. Merry x-mas
