@@truecuckoo Seriously though, this platform represents such a different thing to the desktop or mobile; although the thought of giggin an entire modular set up with just this one tough little box is tempting. Actually, essential - just plug in to the PAsystem and get going. The rest of the band will love you for your speed of set up. Always though is the issue of Learning Curve. But the reward of this system justifies the time investment. An essential equation.

I'm going to wait for feedback from users before I get one. Still, this is one impressive piece of kit. And to anyone who thinks this is _too expensive,_ think about how much you would have to pay for individual modules that do what this single unit is capable of. Comparatively speaking, $500 isn't bad at all.

Great tutorial, cuckoo. Re 11: If you want to make use of the mix control, delete the direct connection from audio input to audio output (select the connection and press the shift delete button) and then no more phasing however using this method you do lose separate output gain control.

@truecuckoo 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yeah sure. Thad work. I prefer send-fx setups rather than mix effects though. I should’ve made my idea clearer. Also I think it served as a good example of explaining why one might wanna be careful handling several dry signals, and keep weary of unintended phasing.

Love the modular design, impressive array of tools and effects, and the interface seems to be reasonably efficient. Just saw you got multiple pages for patches, ...wow. Still can't help but wonder if 40 buttons are enough real estate or if it's a constant struggle to rearrange modules to fit a page. 10:50 why not break the direct connection from the input to the output, reconnect the audio input to the reverb and then the reverb output to the audio out, this way you don’t have direct and processed audio phasing but rather only the processed audio (with dry/wet control through the reverb) with minute latency but without any phasing artifacts
@truecuckoo
@truecuckoo 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah that’d work fine. It’s the easiest way. I should’ve explained that I prefer send FX, rather than mix effects. This way I can send into the reverb, and let it ring when I stop sending to the fx.

How endless is it really? How many modules would you be able to add before the CPU kicks to 100%?

I’ve hit 100% cpu many times. But mostly it’s when I’m doing fairly big patches. Some of the ready made FX modules take a lot of cpu on their own for instance.

They must track the max ram per module. I'm curious if they put a sampler on there and if the pads support velocity.

would be nice if resources were upgradeable, kind of the bottleneck of such a nice invention

Whats the easiest way to turn the signal between dry/wet??? I find most of the eff waaayy to wet on this one
@truecuckoo
@truecuckoo Жыл бұрын
It’s entirely up to you. It’s a modular after all. I’d run the dry signal and the crazy patch signal into a mixer module, and simply mix them until I was happy with the balance. You could even set up an expression pedal and hook the pedal value into the mixer to have dry/ wet always available at your feet. Since it is a pretty wide open modular pedal, it’ll be all up to you to make solutions that work for you.

Is the Zoai capable of creating all the same reverb algorithms found in the Empress Reverb Pedal? Or all the same delay flavors found in their Echosystem pedal? In other words, does this pedal replace their other pedals or are you going to find more specific reverb/delay/etc options on their specific pedals?

I wonder what is the best balance between intuitive interface and underluying complexity. From one side, we already have keyboard and drums. From another, you can just program any synth engine you want straight. Digital modular is probably somwhere inbetween.

I doubt you’re dumb if you’re watching this! Maybe you just don’t have the background in modular synths necessary to understand how to use this pedal. I did a very simple introduction to modular synths: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pah1jalj1afGfZs.html
