The 90 degree flange 03:47 is equivalent to the exhaust manifold on your truck’s engine. It’s intended for the hottest part of the exhaust, which is right off the engine and the added temps caused by the 90 degree turn. The flex pipe will work, for a little while, but the high temps will consume the thin wall flex pipe, starting from the hottest point. After replacing the flex pipe a time or two, you’ll thank yourself for keeping it. Lol

I have 2 zombie boxes for two gennys, a 12k and a 10k running on propane. I have to set them up and take them down each time, and my experience isn't quite the same as yours. They aren't as quiet as I'd hoped and the build quality leaves something to be desired. Still, there aren't a lot of solutions for sound-deadening enclosures, at any price. if you want to make it even quieter...build an open top box using stanchions and panels...insert the stations down into the squares on the bed of your truck...it will work like a sound baffle and will direct the sound upwards instead of radiating outward. with a little sound proofing material on the inside panels of the box...you could dramatically reduce your decibel level by another half, and still have plenty of air circulation as the top would be open...the panels would need to be a little above the total height of the zombie box...

Those zombie boxes seem to be great at everything EXCEPT reduce sound, lol

A couple of questions. I’m from a Houston suburb and it gets hot. What does the manual say about the heat limitations for the box? A neighbor burned up two generators during Beryl, mainly because his home made boxes were too hot. That’s a concern for me. Second question. How easy is it to access your generator for servicing, like oil and oil filter changes, air filters, and adding gasoline? Thanks

If possible turn the exhaust away from the serving side of your walkup window. Although one can hear a sound reduction, its not much.

Seems like since its outside consists of some flat panel sheet metal, that what ever sound made it through the sound adsorbing material would be essential amplified by the metal panels, like speakers. Maybe a 4 inch thick all weather foam cover to throw over the whole thing , or just turn up the Tv, Grandma will thank you, gotta hear that Family Feud. She hardly get excited about much nowadays, but the Feud, now thats a horse of a different color. I dont really like the show, but sitting and watching with her, she relates the story's of her life through the questions being asked. Yes Grandma you told me about that night you almost froze to death in a cemetery in N.Dakota in 1930, as a 12 year old, trying to find your horse. You survived , the horse froze.

If you'd have gotten the ArmorPlate coating, it would have reduced the noise even more.

Thanks man. I own a foodtruck and HATE generator jobs. They don't make a quiet run that is large enough to run my whole system. I was going to try a muffler but thats only a small part of the noise. I will order a zombie box today

The ZombieBox DOES reduce the generator noise. That said, the LARGE size box that they recommended for my generator has 40 inch sides and too tall for me, at 6'2", to reach over to operate the generator controls!! I need 12inch stool to reach Gen Controls. Box needs LARGE removable section to access controls, add fuel, oil and change the oil!! Then it'd be MUCH more usable. Right now, gotta disassemble it to do routine maintenance. Think about that before purchase.

Why not buy a Honda. Food stand in my town has one. It is very quiet. Can hardly tell it’s running.

Can I ask what size your generator is? I'm doing a coffee truck and because of the amount of power needed (10k) my generator is loud. Looking at the Zombie Box to help with that.

Don't waste your money build your own if you can I seen so many videos on these boxes they're not worth it when you can build your own better and quieter I wouldn't even waste my time testing one

like your video - thank you for posting - I don't mean to offend but if you had an INVERTER based Gen, you would most likly not need that Zombiebox, because your decibal readings are even louder than Inverter Gen without zombie box. I know this as fact because of my research. You simply need an inverter Gen like Predator 9500 or Honda 7500i
