King and Zoro proved why they deserve to be the right hands

Zoro sure has come a long way. Imagine someone watching this episode who has only seen up to Zoro's battle against Mihawk in the East Blue.

As someone who only just watched Zoro lose to a guy with a butter knife, gotta say, he came a long way.

It’s crazy how much fighting Zoro did throughout this night. He went toe to toe with Kaido, survived, and then defeated Kaidos right hand man only a little while after. That’s insane 😮

I love how both of them fight for a promise they gave to their captain 🔥

The fight. The animation. The single line “I shall become the king of hell”. This episode is definitely ONE PEAK

Props to the cameraman for withstanding that shockwave give that man a raise 👍🏻

The scoring for this segment was absolutely perfect. The overwhelming power of King coming through in the strings, and Zoro’s motif on the shakuhachi cutting through the top of the mix, both eventually playing his tune to signify his victory. What a great scene.

Shame this clip didnt actually include Zoro landing and being declared the winner. Was one of the most epics scenes ever.

If this insanity is 'Zoro vs King' fight, how will the rest of 'Luffy vs kaido' fight be? IT WILL BE PURE MADNESS!!

It's actually nuts that the Wano arc is really the first time we see Zoro go all out post time-skip. He kinda did vs Pica but even then he wasn't even sweating when he was done. We had pretty much a 600 episode wait to see what his training really did for him

King's voice actor was amazing. The way he said “Flaming Wings” with the extra draw at the end was so perfect.

Even if you aren't a One Piece fan, I highly suggest watching this whole episode, truly epic

Rewatching it and realised that the attacked he used is the title of Ryuma's one shot anime. 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation.

The size scaling was INCREDIBLE!! Zoro being TOWERED by King, King being TINY compared to his final move is just Jaw Dropping.... Zoro is literally a spec compred to those MASSIVE magma dragons.. oh and the MAGMA DRAGONS, Bravo!!

This episode really made you feel like seeing either one of them lose would make you feel upset, but still, this whole fight was a like a boss battle and the animation was crazy as hell!🔥🔥🔥

I really like the unspoken thematic undercurrents of this fight, where they're in the same position. Epically powerful number 2s who in their own right deserve the power and prestige of a captain or a conqueror- but Zoro 'deserves' it more because he has his own ambition and his own dreams beyond just that of his captain, hence why he has ACOC and King doesn't. King's attacks are literally just fiery simulacra of Kaido, he lost this fight and he doesn't have conq haki because he's totally subordinated himself to his captain, compared to Zoro who follows his own dreams and still wants to be a conqueror, achieving glory independently of his captain. King's will is deeply restrained, and with it his power in the world of One Piece where will IS strength- while Zoro's is boundless and sky high. The One Piece world rewards the most ambitious, childish, gutsy dreamers, and punishes people who give up, hide their dreams, or refuse to even have dreams of their own. Who knows what King's ceiling could be if he had more ambition. He probably could have been a Yonko in his own right, but that would require a totally different timeline where he doesn't get captured by the WG and doesn't get rescued by Kaido.

It felt like two Yonkou fighting. The scale of power/destruction was colossal.

I feel like this is the biggest fight Zoro has had since Daz Bones back in Alabasta. Had to master a new ability and put his life fully on the line just to damage his enemy even and came out way stronger. During Daz Bones he went to the league of people who could cut steel and use Ryuga, now he's in the league of the few people who have mastered attacking with King's Haki.

This still brings tears to my eyes, it’s unbelievable how far Zoro has come

Definitely the best animated episode in one piece BY FAR. Literally movie quality all through, they definitely went all out for this one.

The score in this fight is heavily underrated, like just take a second to listen how beautiful and impactful it is. The incorporation of Zoro’s theme is also an amazing touch. It makes the fight feel 10x more intense. This mixed with the voice acting and animation is truly amazing.

It literally took Zoro over 1000 episodes to get to this level. Whoever criticizes the animation has zero consideration of the journey. Easily in the top 3 of the best animated episodes of the whole anime.

for me the best One Piece episode is not Luffy gear 5 but Zoro vs King ,one of the best anime episode

One of the best fights ever, this episode was one of best. Zoro just looks awesome and the red glow in is eye and with the green flames to boost like he was some sort of demon is so cool you can't look away for a second. The movements, the sound, the drawings, the intensity... this episode was the perfect 10/10.

Literally the coolest, and best looking scene of anime of my entire life.... Soon as king initiated his finally attack Zoro looks up like he's seeing some catastrophic event happening like a meteor or tornado... All the different dragons trying to hit Zoro energy literally spewing from king who's giving his dying will in each attack then shoots a giant dragon.... And the last one was a kamikaze attack... His last shot... Just crazy yeo ...chills....

Every time I think One Piece animation has peaked with a certain episode, something crazier releases every time. We’re watching already fantastic animators improve in real time on a WEEKLY show, what a time to be a One Piece fan Also shoutout to the animator yen bm for this particular cut, their work on this show has been consistently incredible

It doesn’t feel like king fully knows his own power the same way Zoro does. I think it’s not that zoro is outright stronger than King but judging from the story so far, it seems like he has a lot more battle experience and knowledge due to his training and fights up until now. I think that’s what sets them apart and is the reason for why Zoro’s will is stronger than King’s will. Zoro wants to become the strongest swordsman/king of hell alongside helping Luffy, but King has no personal goal of his own other than to serve Kaido.

The voice overs and voice actors in this episode are on point. I must have watched this a hundred times. You can feel the intensity. 5 ⭐. Oda you are the man!!!!!!!!!!!!
