I just got mine in the mail today. I’m seeing the same loose fiber pieces all over the blue carbon areas, especially where the handle is rounded down to meet the liner. Speaking of the liner, the top of the carbon scale is flush against the liner but there is a noticeable gap between the carbon scale and the liner at the bottom of the knife, enough for things in my pocket to get snagged in between when carrying. This was my first ZT knife purchase- and believe me, I was really, really excited about it- and it will be my last ZT.

I actually like the silver liner on the one side because it matches the stop lugs and the lock bar stabilizer which for me harmonizes those color choices. To me if the stop lugs/ lbs/ or liner were the only light silver color on the knife I think you would look odd. I like the colors in this knife a lot I think the silver is a bit of an accent to me if the LBS was PVD coated it would have blended in too much to the scale and just been vanilla. I feel the silver also brings a industrial/ mechanized feel to the knife as well. I absolutely love it I just got mine in. Also my carbon fiber scale was perfect none of those fine hairs that you got on yours.

“Factory special” in that it was just cobbled together with all the leftover parts they could collect at the factory.

I would go to USA made knives and purchased one of theirs with the mod work on both sides which are getting better and better. Thanks for the review.

Hi brand new scubb.Sorry to hear this about ZT.I have 3ZTs,0620,0095 bw ti,0562 cf.I have had my 0562 20cv for 6 mos,it is perfect.I wanted 0562 ti got tired of waiting.Got good deal on cf.Was a little afraid it might splinter.Very pleased with my 3.Hope I wasn t just lucky.G.L. have fun.

That’s definitely one of the coolest versions of the 562. I really wish we could see ZT come back with crazy factory customs... it’s definitely cool. Did they really need to have so many stand-offs? That’s my only critique.. the knife doesn’t look nice looking topside other then the liner you mentioned as well. The carbon fibers are disappointing.

My cf scale was the same way. I took a lighter and gave it a quick flame 🔥 and all the fibers are gone. Poor QC but an easy fix. The bare liner is unfortunate but they have done that on other sprints.

The white fibers are part of the design - they add texture to the grip and invoke conversation.

I have a 562 in elmax. Absolutely love it. The only reason I don't have a hinderer is because I am left handed. I can't get over the fact that the pocket clip is not reversible. Glad I bought a 0393 instead of this factory special. Hopefully that knife comes in a little better.

I got mine and it's clean no fiber coming off. I have number 214 what number was on that one DOC. Could be QC issue. But I agree you take on this one. :)

I own ZT's and Hinderers. I love my Hinderers but all my ZT's are for sale. So, thats how I feel about them. If you want a Hinderer just save up and buy one.

I got mine yesterday and I'm sending it back today. My knife came the same exact way. Voids in the carbon fiber, fibers protruding off the scale, and also very disappointed that the knife wasn't uniform throughout.

My ZT 0566bwcf also has the liner that doesn’t match the black washed frame lock side. It’s annoying and just lazy on ZTs part.

It's pretty, and somewhat compelling, but I owned an 0562 for about 2 days and sent it back. The issue for me was that the relief cutout for the frame lock is decidedly sharp-edged and I couldn't come to terms with how it caught my pocket edge every time I tried to put it back in. I had others try it and saw the same with them. With thick seamed blue jeans, the cutout caught the pocket and resisted sliding in. For $220 I expected better. I know they're popular and in the hand, a great feel. Action was stellar but it wasn't for me. I ended up with a Benchmade Griptilian in 20CV - gray and blue handles.

I’m surprised that qc let that knife out the door like that. But that’s why I ended up buying the 0562cf and Judy having it anod, buying an aftermarket scale and hardware myself.

Seems like Zero Thought was put into QC. ZT should take time to consider that in this day and age of social media if you don't take the time to ensure your putting out a quality product you will get exposed . The person buying this is gonna be a fan of ZT why let down your core audience , come on ZT get back to the glory days .

I got mine in on the 2nd. Had really high hopes, never owing a ZT or a Hinderer design... Kinda disappointed. The PVD finish shows fingerprints like crazy and they don't really wipe away. The liner is not the same color as the back, which didn't really bother me, but the detent on mine is really weak. You have to really try in order for it to fire and lock up. It has a tendency to go half or three quarters of the way out and stop. Not drop shut, but smooth. I did like the loose fibers though. Thought they gave it a neat look, but they tend to grab pocket lint. I did like it enough to order a real Hinderer XM-18 3.5" Spear Point in S45VN, so I guess there's that...

The more satin disk kind of balances with the blade stops. The one thing I dislike on all the 0562s is the cheap coating on the clip. Comes off almost immediately. I took a wire brush to mine to take it off now it matches the disk and the stops lol

For me to purchase a knife without a balanced design such as this is very rare, why do ZT and others continue this cheap ass habit, because the end user accepts it and that is why I say no to ZT. The last knife I last purchased with this unfinished design was the Reate Iron and in spite of it being an excellent knife I was not able to get past that feature in spite of them doing some nice milling on the "B" side.

ZT should just back off from making "fancy" knives. All of their memorable knives only include titanium and G10. They should get back in their lane lol I love my ZT0562BLK and it's my most used folder. Not fancy just a great tool that has a pleasing shape.
