Taking the screw out of the lockbar insert when the knife is open & there is nothing preventing the insert from falling out or shifting itself out of alignment was the first mistake. Do it when the knife is closed, the blade is pushing against the insert & the detent ball is seated in the detent hole on the blade.

I much prefer the standard flipper much easier for one hand operation & a lot more fidget friendly. I own two front flippers and doubt I will by a third.

love these knives, both engraved (that's more personal pref of course - I don't like all the designs) but that Plague Doctor got me - and I wanted to commemorate what a shit show that time of our life was. I'm glad the newer versions having matching pivots on both sides now. My only 2 gripes are the same ones that every one has - no Choil, and the cut out for the lock bar is a friggin canyon, but aside from that - whooeee. amazing. I just got mine for $395 - stonewashed blue ano... the damascus on an engraved knife just looks too busy to me. either blade or scales need to be clean... NOT both. knife vomit.

WE really knocked it out the park with the mini buster, it really stays true to this design.

I was going to leave a partly negative comment about the MP-1, but now, much less so. I had thought the thumb studs didn’t work, on my knife at least, but I now find that it is sensitive to lock bar pressure. That’s still not good, but is better than the thumb studs not working. The indent seems to be strong but reliable. Now the thumb studs work great! They DO take quite a bit of pressure to fire, but they do fire, repeatably. I am unable to do a reverse flick, but the flipper works well. Neither deployment method is terrific, exactly, but both work respectably well. I like everything else about the knife, in particular its blade shape and steel, and the way it fits my hand. All told, I like this knife. It’s not perfect, but for the time being at least, it’s a keeper!

Ah man I’m gonna have to study that tip transition because it looks like two knives on top of another and it geometrically doesn’t make any sense. Maybe that’s the point but to a machinist like Todd there’s gotta be a reason

When this knife needs cleaned on the inside spray brake cleaner in through opening ,and brake cleaner will get the dirt,and gunk out ,and that use a drop or 2 on each side of the blade so blade slides are lubricated on the inside....this how I clean my john wick microtech knife ,this knife is my everyday carry,,,I have the Mariphone version put up my john wick gun vault

Every 31 flex’s a little. You have grip the handle like a man and move the blade tip up and down. You’ll feel the tang clicking on the stop pin. I’d still rather have the thinner grind and bushing (once washers are slightly stoned) than the improved lockup and ergos of the inkosi.

You didn’t press hard enough I’m sure your 31 blade will move. The lockup is tight but it flexes so it takes a fair bit of pressure. It’s just enough movement to lift off the stop pin. Not a big deal to me but a design flaw that should’ve never got green lit.

I’m watching your video 6 years later, and they can’t make enough to keep up with demand..the Umnum has a 6 year wait and the Sebenza and Inkosi has a 4 year wait..I do like the Insingo blade myself

I'm glad I found and bought the spydiechef. Even though it is cheaper, the chef is still quite a bit of an asking price, but for that money I have received a knife that does literally everything I want it to do, makes me smile every time I use it, and makes me not want to buy any more pocket knives because it does everything I want well enough that I don't yearn for anything more.

In my testing, these blades will go about an inch into rare cooked steak with a decent sear. Paper is a terrible reference.

I have been a dedicated ka bar customer for at least five years If you get a knife from them that isn’t so sharp it’ll cut your eyeballs just from looking at it, then you got a qc fail that somehow made it thru qc Unlucky, but that’s all it is
