Great video Doug! I have several BlueSCSI v1 and v2 for my vintage Macs, but wish I had scsi on any of my Amigas. All these new scsi emulators are just awesome.

The neat thing about ZuluSCSI is that it eliminated the need for that blue pill Arduino thing. I know it's a lot faster than 1.1 BlueSCSI, but I know version 2 of BlueSCSI made dramatic improvements

I just got one of these for my NeXT. I haven't set it up, however. I just started the video but I am fairly sure that what I learn here is applicable to that platform as well. Thanks again for posting. :)

I think it will pertain just fine! It should use all the same file formats and everything. NeXT is certainly a nifty platform. Years ahead of other machines, just like the AMIGA.

Now all it needs is audio output to make those old scsi-HD sounds :D Good video, some really good hardware popping up the last years.

I've been loving the ZuluSCSI for all of my retro systems that have SCSI. I've tried all of the newer RP2040 ZuluSCSI models. They've all worked every time on anything I've tried: Amiga 500 with GVP A530, Amiga 2000 with GVP, Mac SE/30, various PowerPC Macs and so forth. My SCSI2SD board died and it was such a pain to setup anyway. For naming convenience extended names like "hd2.WB31_DLs.hda" also work. As long as the name starts with something such as "hd1..." or "hd20_512..." (BlueSCSI syntax) and has an .hda extension you're good! I typically put a dot after the "hd[0-6)" part before any extra text though BlueSCSI names with spaces also seem to work just as well.

That's good to know that you can put descriptive text after the HD text! That will certainly help in making an archive of various systems and installations! I agree that these little guys just "work"!

I have a ZuluSCSI floppin' out back of my CDTV, and after I set everything (OS 3.1) up, it Just Works. It's brilliant and I love it. Though I really need to design and 3D print some kind of bracket so it looks a little more elegant... right now it looks a little... undignified...

It is so nice to have a hard drive on a CDTV. I have used both a BlueSCSI and an external SCSI2SD on my CDTV and it just opens up so many options!

Using the rev11 SuperBuster for the fast lane? It was the thing to give away the finished buster with Z3 cards.

I get 6.5MB/s with my ZuluSCSI on the A3000 using the PFS3-AIO file system.
@10MARC
@10MARC 9 ай бұрын
With just the standard Amiga 3000 SCSI? I don't think it can run that fast, and PFS does not speed things up that much. Try it with the "Diskspeed" Program. I bet Sysinfo misinterprets it.
@jdryyz
@jdryyz 9 ай бұрын
Yeah, I was thinking the same because you know how much we can trust the always reliable SysInfo. RSCP reports around the same, however. I will have to give DiskSpeed a try also. I see it is on Aminet.

I know you were only kidding about throwing my Macs in the bin so I won't take offence. I'm sure others have pointed it out too, but I can happily format a card to ExFat without installing anything special. I hope that helps.

Got my own zuluSCSI today- made the HD0.hda, but WinUAE won't let me create another larger file, for HD1.hda....hmmm... not sure why? (create button ghosted)

You don't have to mess with any settings at all when creating the HDA file. It is just a raw file. To get the create button to light up you first have to give the HDA file a size. Type in the size, and the button activates.
@drphilxr
@drphilxr 9 ай бұрын
@@10MARC forgot to enter the size, doh! Thankyou for all the .hdf making tips at end (using WinUAE). And the fact this doesn’t need power off the A3K. Getting it all together now- just wondering where did you get the custom Zulu faceplate for the 3000?

Just got a BlueScsi v2 for my GVP A500 HD+. I don't know what is the max image size I could use (4.4 ROM) --- So I just stuck a 540 Meg one on = Cool. Will experiment with larger and CD images later. #Update# Added CDs or second HD (same size) gives errors = gvpscsi.device: unit 000 Unexpected Status $4E/$20 No errors in the log file ???

Even with Workbench 2.x you can easily do a 4 Gig image. Just remember thatm if you go above 4 Gigs to format the SD card with exFat!
