They were the applicant/complaint and judges in their own complaint. There is interest automatically vested when judges review their own decision, more so when they were also the complainant.

IEC, for reasons I don't understand, did not appeal but instead applied for clarification. There is no ground of prejudice to ZUMA by the Justices. The CC only needs to explain, for future cases, whether a remission by the President overturn (or nullify) a sentence by the Concourt or any other Court. For me, it doesn't, otherwise the Executive would be interfering into the Judiciary.
