I love this rendition. I want to request that advertisements not be inserted into the middle of the music. It is truly a rude interruption and frankly makes me feel more like avoiding the products advertised than using them.

Aaah Man, This is just too fine....In 2020 who is here?

He was a dear friend of my mother who I was privileged to meet and see live on a few occasions. Truly one of the most astoundingly skilled musicians I have ever witnessed. The communication on stage between Ahmad Jamal and the musicians he played with was supernatural. The absolutely true, and pure love that flowed from the piano out to the audiences I was part of flowed out, and over, and around us with a harmonic embrace of warmth, and taste, and care and so much more. He treated his friendship with my mom in the same way. He was simply the embodiment of the divine music he created. There are no real words to explain. I have never encountered another musician who exuded the magic of this genius and kind, gracious, amazing soul.

Ahmad Jamal is going to be 90 on July 2!!!! Such an amazing pianist.

This blonde girl sat mesmerized in 1972 absorbing Jamal at the invitation of his drummer, Frank Gant. I was 21. My first exposure to advanced piano jazz. The city was San Francisco.

I saw this wonderful man in concert 10 years ago (Feb.2013) in France. The whole theatre was hushed as he played; in reverence it seemed. And no wonder. RIP.

I love the fact that at 3:42 he was able to throw in a quote from "Stolen Moments", fitting it perfectly into the phrasing. And he looks at his bassist, and smiles. I learned by version of "Stolen Moments" listening to his version, long ago.

This is pure magic! The feeling of absolute freedom of thought and the ability to perform what he has in mind - this is mindblowing!

I first heard Jamal in 1957 and instantly liked him and have seen him perform two other times between now and then. I wonder if he has found the fountain of youth.

I saw him back in 1976 in vancouver, canada and he is playing as strong and in incredible health as he was back then. What great artist!

Had the very distinct pleasure to hear him live in Toronto 20+ years ago. The way that he holds space and time in his music is simply a wonder to behold. I am at once edified, encouraged, illumined and inspired by the musical offering of this master. His phrasing from 9:08-9:46 transports me to the very best of places. Gratitude Mr.Jamal.

I have played this almost a thousand times (really) but tonight I was saddened deeply by the news of the the passing of Ahmad and wish i could have seen him perform live.

My jazz band in Nashville played this song last school year. I loved playing it then, I love playing it now. This is personally one of the best versions.
