The scrolling in the Zx spectrum is perfect. I honestly thinks its the best version...even beats the Amiga and Atari St version which i can see jerking.

Looks really nice. The palette of the Spectrum has been used very nicely and the scrolling is lovely and smooth.

Zynaps, Xecutor. Xecutor is my fav - like a Spy Hunter. Flashback me in a time ^^ I almost cry ^^

One of the best side scrolling shooters on any platform. It was hard but the gameplay was spot on. R type was good too

Bawbag Stromash Z80 is quite powerful if you use it right

You could not program smooth scrolling of large areas without using specific assembler tricks. "Honest" way to do it would always result in bad scrolling.

The C64 and Spectrum versions are both good but the Speccy did it with twice the pixels for half the money! ;-)

The only let down is that there's no power-up weapon. You've just got the same one throughout the game.

It does have power-ups: SPEEDUP Increase Speed. FIREPOWER Increase laser power. BOMBS Activate bomb thrower. MISSILES Enable missile targeting. SEEKER Enable seeker missile.

I can hardly imagine that the zx spectrum could only view 4 color including b&w, but thanks the rainbow mode, this console could view twice more colors onscreen or even 4 times with dithering, that's what i call impressive,how programmers headily tryed to overcomd limitations.

+johneygd you're wrong, spectrum has 15 colors: 8 on low bright + 8 on high bright, but black the same

@@screwerzx even the two blacks are *_EVER_* so slightly different. Compare them when you have BRIGHT 1 black for PAPER, and then a black BORDER. Vaguely discernible difference.
