Hi Jamie, most TEFL courses focus on teaching abroad but I'm interested in teaching 1:1 as a freelance tutor and need help with 1:1 lesson preparation, etc. Which of the TEFL courses would you recommend that focus on online teaching and providing tools for using online platforms for teaching ( e.g ZOOM, Thanks a lot!)

Great video but I recommend if a person cannot get into JET or a similar program then don’t teach in Japan. The horror stories are true. Sadly even as a JET you are not safe but at least you are paid better than most. There is so much work place harassment, low wages, discrimination, over work and exploitation. Please don’t come if it’s not JET.

You can either get teaching credentials to teach PE in international schools or get a TEFL and teach ESL.

I am teacher from India • i want to teach in abroad. I prefer to go for the classes in CELTA. If i am certified will i be placed with a secure teaching job?

You also need a bachelor’s degree to teach in most countries abroad. Also, as an Indian teacher you are considered a non-native speaker. This means that there may be some additional requirements (depends on the country). CELTA does not offer job placement.

If you don’t have teaching experience, I recommend making sure your course has a teaching practicum.

I'm from the uk with a British passport, I have been searching for a Tefel company, I have ruled alot of them out but I'm now looking at TTA, would you say this company is a safe option and a good one to go with? Do you have some experience and a degree? If so, TTA is a good choice. If not, then I recommend ITA since it includes a 20-hour teaching practicum.

How can you absolutely pick Galicia? In that instance, would you recommend any job boards where a person can simply apply to schools in Galicia without going through any of the programs

@@user-zp1vw6pq3w If you don't have EU working rights, it's not really possible to just apply to schools. Instead, you can get a student visa with working rights and then apply directly to schools in the city where you want to teach. Otherwise, the best option is to go with programs that place in Galicia and request it if you are non-EU.

This course can be done online. However, for non-native speakers I recommend CELTA or International TEFL Academy, not TTA.

Currently residing in China as a test prep instructor at an international school. I have 20 years experience, PGCE, Ma Edu, TESOL. My Niche is IB PYP as well as all Cambridge exams that follow the CEFR reference from KET to IELTS. My goal is to have a consistent online base of students that I could assist with. The issue is that although I am highly qualified, I do not have any "connections" to get students. The current online platforms (VIP Kids to name one) are tailored to teaching oral speaking skills to ESL students for a very low income. What am I missing?

With all your experience you should be freelancing and not working for companies. You don’t need connections to get students - instead you need a marketing strategy backed by market research. I recommend joining my upcoming live workshop next week if you want to learn more.

ITA claims to offer lifetime job support whereas most individual CELTA providers do not. Do you think this makes a major difference? Do you think the job support is more than something a person could do for themselves just by searching for schools. If the priority is teaching spesifically online, with a goal to get hired as soon as possible, which course would you recommend? I lean to CELTA but the job support in spesific is the main thing that leaves me conflicted. Thank you!

Great question! I think the ITA job search help is fantastic for teaching abroad. If you only want to teach online, then I recommend a more affordable course and then taking my online mini-course that is specifically about how to teach online (logistically - equipment, getting hired, creating demo videos, etc) I recommend CELTA only if you want to teach adults and are looking to teach abroad in Europe or the Middle East.

May I ask you something? Before moving to Australia, your husband held dual citizenship from Argentina and Italy. Now that he has Australian citizenship, if you were to decide to move to the USA in the future, would he be able to apply for an American visa without losing his Australian citizenship? Or would obtaining the American visa cause him to lose his Australian citizenship?

Yes, he is eligible for an American green card since we are married. No, he doesn’t need to give up his Australian passport.

In my case, I had to evacuate Egypt due to civil unrest. If you aren’t a citizen of the country where you are teaching, you aren’t offered the same protections during times of crisis, so your embassy may coordinate an exit plan or you may be responsible.

Hi there, I have a Bcom Degree with honours in HRM, which tefl is best for me Celta or tta level 5 tefl? As I wish to teach overseas and specifically in the middle east ?? Is a level 5 ok or what? Also does uae accept Bcom degrees ?

It all depends on your passport and where you want to teach. CELTA is preferred in the Middle East.

Also will any country accept my bcom Degree.. I studied a 3 year diploma and fourth year was a postgraduate in a separate college, so will they accept or they only accept BA english? Im south african, Celta is quite expensive here

@@CODENAME417 Do you have a bachelor's degree? This is a minimum requirement to teach in most of the MIddle East. Some countries will look for a master's degree.CELTA is preferred, but you could try to get hired with a more affordable course. It all depends on which jobs you are applying to and if they are competitive or not.

If you are certified you can look into Skilled Visas for public schools, but not sure if you can get sponsored to work at the language schools (Alliance Francais)
