The saying thatExpectations lead to disappointment is true. For you guys to not argue there has to be a thing of if he can't do it then it means I should do it because I can do it. Allocation of roles leads to disappointment because you will not always be available to do what you guys agreed upon everytime. So when it comes to responsibility you should look at who's best at something and also availability to do the thing.Even though that person might be the best but is that person available if not it means you who is least is meant to do the thing.

30+ years into marriage I've given up so much for my marriage and kids and it has all been for my good; they've help the Best Me. I look back over my life and smile cause without them the good and bad I wouldn't be this thoughtful being I am and aware that I am that I am and being willing to change is powerful.

Thank you so much for the wonderful episode. I enjoyed it as usual. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos and I’m really enjoying the content. I’m happy because it gives me a male perspective. Even though your audience is primarily for men, I feel like I get a lot of insights as a woman too. It’s not just about male relationships or marriages; you guys cover other really interesting topics. However, in today’s episode, I think there was a mistake regarding Eve wanting to rule over her husband. There’s no verse like that in the Bible. I looked it up and couldn’t find it. Could you please rectify that error? It’s important for you guys to stay credible so we can trust the information you share, especially when it comes to Scripture. I don’t want to feel like I have to fact-check everything you say. It would be great if you could either correct the mistake or provide the specific verse you’re referring to. Thank you 🙏🏼☺️

The last part of Genesis 3:16 was what I was referencing and I said it as an applicatory statement because of the question, In other words, I responded to the question with the application of the verse. The question was about wives who blatantly disrespect their husbands in overbearing ways. Here's the verse: To the woman, he said, "I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing in pain you shall bring forth children. YOUR DESIRE SHALL BE CONTRARY TO YOUR HUSBAND BUT HE SHALL RULE OVER YOU" (ESV) WHAT IS THE IMMEDIATE CONTEXT OF THIS PASSAGE? Adam and Eve disobeyed God by doubting His goodness and relying on their own thinking of how life is meant to be lived. They rejected His command and ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In response, God holds them accountable and explains the consequences of their sin, outlining the curse that will affect human life, particularly in this case, their marriage and from this point on all other marriages in history would be marked by this power struggle, as a result of the curse. NOW THAT WE HAVE THE OVERALL CONTEXT, IN LIGHT OF THAT, WE ASK, WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE PARTICULAR VERSE (GEN 3:16) God indicates that because of sin, Eve will try to dominate her husband, but he will assert control over her. This disrupts the harmonious partnership God had designed. Sin has caused conflict, igniting a struggle for power in marriage. Now, both man and woman will vie for dominance. The man, once tasked with caring for his wife, will seek to rule her, while the wife will attempt to take control.

The essence of sin is self-reliance and self-exaltation. First in rebellion against God, and then in exploitation of each other - John Piper A VITAL COMPONENT TO OPENING UP A FULLER UNDERSTANDING OF GENESIS 3:16, IS ACTUALLY SEEN WHEN THE SAME WORDS ARE USED IN GENESIS 4:7, HERE'S WHAT I MEAN... The key to understanding Genesis 3:16 lies in its connection to Genesis 4:7. In Genesis 4:7, God warns Cain that sin is like a predator, ready to overpower him, saying, “Sin is crouching at the door; ITS DESIRE IS FOR YOU, BUT YOU MUST RULE OVER IT.” Similarly, in Genesis 3:16, God tells the woman, “YOUR DESIRE SHALL BE FOR YOUR HUSBAND, AND HE SHALL RULE OVER YOU.” Both verses use the same Hebrew words, highlighting the nature of "desire" as a force wanting to dominate. In Genesis 3:16, it implies that in a sinful state, a broken world with broken marriages, the woman will seek to control the man, while the man will dominate her in return. IMPORTANT NOTE: In Genesis 4:7 God warns and intrusts Cain, in Genesis 3:16 it's a pronouncement of judgment over their sin, the key connection is how the Hebrew word for desire is used as a force wanting to dominate. So in conclusion, the phrase in Genesis 3:16, "Your desire shall be for your husband," signifies that, under the sway of sin, a wife will aim to dominate or manipulate the husband. In turn, when a husband is under sin's control, he will overpower and rule over the woman with his strength. God's intention from the beginning was for husbands and wives to share a relationship marked by love and respect. While sin has damaged this ideal, God urges believers in Christ to seek the perfect relationship shown in Christ's connection with the Church.

SIDE NOTE: Other Bible versions give a more direct translation like the NLT which states “You will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you.” Hopefully, this clears up any confusion, and thanks again for being concerned and bringing that up, much appreciated! Godbless
