My primary doctor suggested that my throbbing pain was due to occipital neuralgia. I've experienced no numbness, or blurred vision. The pain radiates down to my right shoulder blade (same side of throbbing ache). I have been wondering 1. If a chiropractor did an aggressive neck manipulation to have caused my pain or 2. Having my one and only episode of vertigo, caused by a right inner ear infection. Both events happened around the same time, back in 2021, so it's hard for me to truly tell. Nonetheless, I have suffered from throbbing headaches on the back right side of my head and having muscle tightness in my neck...again, radiating down to my right shoulder blade. With all that said, do you suppose I have a herniated disc at the base of my head, instead, that could be causing the pain? I would love some feedback. Thanks.

I have had headaches everyday and migraines 2-3 times a week for the last 4 years. I take Aimovig which has made my migraines go to 2-3 times a month, but I’m still getting headaches 3-6 times a week. I had this " bilateral greater and lesser and third occipital nerve decompression/avulsion" this is my 4 the day of healing. I am excited. Yes what you said like you have no life. I think yours where worse. I did my in abort shots. Sumatriptan and toradol if needed. The main key was to abort my grains before the group they get all. Sometimes I took pure sets that have barbiturate caffeine and Tylenol worked on the tiny migraines. I never had migraines where I woke up. Went to sleep. Basically I would have bored it and sometimes it would come back the next day once it hits about 5 days. Of course I wait too late to get steroid packet or steroid shot. It's hard to drive all the way across to the big town to get some sort of IV that really didn't work with all the stuff they put in the IV and the doctor want to cut me down to six sumitription shots a month. I said I get over 15 some months like in the winter it would cut down. Basically I'm a weather migraineer but after my neck surgery 2021 I noticed things changed. I start getting like green in my ear. I start getting this blaring pain the back of my neck that if it went up to the back of my head I knew it turned into a migraine. That was something new to me. I never knew that migraines have to do with the nerves wrapped around her head. I kept thinking it was in my behind in my brain. And I wish my migraine specialists would have told me about Vanderbilt hospital plastic surgeon. They did surgery for this. I met the surgeon. I filled out something online cuz I ran into them but accident I don't know how I came about it. It was like a miracle and then they had an appointment and then I was supposed to get some sort of nerve test block cuz they were going to block my nerves on my upper neck for the chronic migraines and possibly burn those nerves every 6 months. And the doctor call me and says do you want to do this? Is it yeah cuz I'm going to file your insurance and they did that department especially trained. Basically Vanderbilt is very well trained to deal with my state insurance and I've been so happy. So I just had my surgery. I'm really not increasing pain, but I hope everybody knows that those nerves outside your head either behind your eye around dry or in your temples or the official nerves in the back. They can't be treated and have surgery to clean up and relieve the pressure it's having. The doctor told me I had a lot of scarring but I swear I was not no sport athlete or been in a bad car accident. I don't know if had to do with me being a kid on roller skates. I remember sliding my back against bricks or somebody pulled my hair real hard when I was little. Who knows. That was only trippy thing. But thank you for your testimony. My back head was cut straight across left to right. Back of my head is numb. No severe pain during the healing process. It's been since the 16th of March and today is 19th of March. I still need to rest cuz I do go to the store and go to another store and when it came home I had to take medicine and lay down carefully and I did fall asleep. If it was thick I would probably put a ponytail in air it out so. That's my hair was up. It'll be leaning against pillowcase and material that I put my head against with mania. They on my sides. And I do a big role of a soft blanket to go under my neck and sit up with a bunch of big pillows and I could sleep on my back a very short time before I go lay on my sides. There may be more surgery, probably near my eye. Top my head or side but that's something to discuss and see if I'm still having front. A call front face to head and temple pain because the Botix talks holds down a lot but it's not perfect for me. I think Botox was only working 25%. Maybe less but I've been on everything and all I am has been on as a support meds, somewhere trips and shots toward all. Only allowed to have one per week. If I had that much returning constant migraine. I created my own migraine kit to in order to have the ER. Even though my neurologist trying to cut me down to six shots a month. I request to answer this problem I have been dealing with almost 20+ years. 1. Sometimes during journey, I get muscle tightness at back of head ( Not exactly back 2 inch above towards scalp). I cant say its headache but its totally different feeling and if I suddenly move my head right and left I feel something at back of my head moving parallely. 2. Over the period of time I got to know its triggers (a) via post lunch especially if I am not doing any work and resting myself in cushions. If I get into some physical work bit hard, then I dont experience it. (b) impropper posture by lying down resting my head towards wall ( I hv stopped completely) (c) Sudden unwanted stress. This case it goes away by trying to relax the muscle by pulling the muscles of ears ( without applying hands) though takes time So most of the time the nerve at back head become overreactive ( I dont know if its the perfect word). My life is hell. I tried explaining to many doctors but did not get any satisfactory answer. Over search, I found Migrane may be triggering this unwanted feeling at backhead. But I did not find any link between gastracid and this. I came accross Occipital nuralagia and think that its corelated. I cant call it a headace. During climbing stairs I used to feel a bulb is getting switch off and on when I get this problem.

Where are you located? You look absolutely amazing, I would fly to you tomorrow or whenever I could get an appt. I've had occipital nerve block injections about 10 times. My neurologist that was temporary put the shots in the sweet spots where it completely took my migrane pain away for 5-6wks. Haven't had much success with the other injections doing them in other locations. My first round of botox was disappointing 😥 next round this week, hoping for more relief this round. So much of my daily pain is right where you did the injections on this man. You seem so knowledgeable, precise and confident. Only hope to find a Dr as good as you one day!
