Your work is amazing I love it as it in timelapse I just wanna ask one question do you wait very long between layers or do you just keep printing fairly quickly? . Keep doing these lovely videos. Be great if you could talk in a couple of them.🙏💕
@HeartstoneArt23 күн бұрын
Thanks! I layer quickly. I’m using very thin layers of paint so they dry fast enough that by the time the next layer is ready to print, I don’t need to wait.

Is oil paint already mixed together with wax?
@HeartstoneArtАй бұрын
The cold wax is a medium that I mix in with the oil paint as I use it.

Can I ask how you store your paintings on paper? Is this on paper? What sort?
@HeartstoneArtАй бұрын
It is on paper. When they’re fully dry they either go into the gallery I sell through or into one of my storage bins.

Another beautiful ethereal scene. I notice the colours you have written down as you palette are ones you use often. You get such good résultas from them. I’m putting them in my mind for when I need to buy more paint. Thank you.

Yes, I love this particular palette. And I tend to stick with the same colors until I feel I’ve exhausted them.

Hi i didn't see you using the cold wax ? Did you just glaze the painting afterwards with it or something ?
@HeartstoneArt2 ай бұрын
It is mixed in with the paints - you can see it on my palette next to the yellow. Oil paint doesn’t behave this way without the cold wax medium.

I adore your approach to monotypes and your work is just beautiful. I am also impressed with your color mixing skills. May I ask what your base colors are? Looks like maybe pthalo blue, burnt sienna and perhaps yellow ochre? Anyway, thank you for sharing your inspiring techniques!

Cath I was thinking of buying one of those meisermister wedges on line and I wondered if you could tell me what would be the most useful size that you use. I think I see you using the blue one the most? I usually work on oil paper about A4 size. They are very expensive to buy from here and I usually use catylist wedges.
@HeartstoneArt2 ай бұрын
The bowl scrapers have softer edges that the catalyst wedges. There are only two sizes of the messermeister bowl scrapers that I know of and I use both (color is incidental). I also discovered a slightly larger bowl scraper that I’ll use sometimes from Zoie & Chloe that works well too.
