Headcanon: Bowsette and female gjinka Bowser have different hair colours. This is because the Super Crown ISN'T a gender bend device. It is a magical item created in the Mushroom kingdom to overwrite the wearer's DNA with Peach's. Think, the omnitrix but there's not time limit, only one alien and it's power is being Peach. I can assume this item's intended purpose was to be placed on a chosen toad or toadette to replace Peach in her absence, but was deemed pointless as Mario would just defeat Bowser and come back with the real Peach anyway. As to why this spiky shelled monarch wishes to transform into a cute girl..... actually it's fine, I think I see why.

I think the past TOTK takes place after SS, prior to MC. And I think present TOTK takes place waaaaay after the Ganon's of other timelines defeat. IMO.

From my perspective, Zelda does not have "A Timeline". It has 4 separate continuities. (1) NES continuity, which is its own self-contained, unconnected story. (2) The 2D Continuity, which covers all 2D games except the NES ones. (3) The 3D Continuity, covering all 3D and 2.5D games released between Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword, and (4) The modern continuity, with BotW, TotK, and to an extent, Age of Calamity. It's possible Skyward Sword is in the modern continuity, and the NES continuity could very easily fit in the 2D continuity, but it doesn't need to.

Tears of the kingdom and breath of the wild had terrible plots

Crazy how Mario and Luigi started out as a carpenters and then went from being the most powerful beings ever taking down not just Bowser but other original Mario villains and traversing through different dimensions, galaxies, realms, other worlds, etc. They were just broke, and these mfs go on to also be professional golfers, tennis players, soccer players, gamblers, etc. Their resume is insane.
