That’s cool, my grandmother was from Japan. She married a southern man from Georgia and all my life I couldn’t understand what she was talking about. She spoke English with a Japanese accent and a Georgian drawl.

I found out years ago that jamaican and english from the elizabethan times is very similar. Like a time capsule in a lot of ways. It was fascinating to hear the similarities. Wish i could find those videos but it was so long ago.

Reminded me of this Japanese guy who learn to speak Portuguese with a Brazilian coworker from Pernambuco. He spoke with a thick northeastern accent from Recife and it actually sounded really natural, it was crazy
