So beautiful! ❤ Unfortunately I can’t seem to get my potted flowers to get so big. I use the same fertilizers. Water myself daily. Not sure what I do wrong.

I love your videos! I’m in Kansas, and it’s really hot here. I never thought of changing to a bigger pot when a plant isn’t looking good. Inside plants, sure, but outside flowers it never crossed my mind. Thanks for sharing that, it’s really helped.

I had same problem wirh amaranth so I took a flyer by planting out in flower garden bed and buried about 1/3 of way up even though tiny and no leaf nodes on stem that buried, just lightly watered as needed and to my great surprise after looking rough for a little while took off and grew up to be big strong and beautiful. No idea if was lucky fluke or would work again as planted diectly in garden after that.

Thank you for your very informative videos. Providing information to different plants and growth Habits helps a new gardener so much. Like you said as much I love the proven winner lines, we do not always have access to those. What is a good way to access some of the alternatives you worked with this. Is something I go and ask my local greenhouse’s to possibly try ? Or is there access for a home gardener to get the seeds. Any guidance is appreciated.

I love the orange and yellow million bells, and the pinkish coleus with the ruffled edge is stunning!!! I have learned a lot from you Corey! Thank you so much! I’m in southern Ontario so we have pretty much the same climate, ( including that last heat wave and all the rain! )

I’m in zone 7 and leave trees shrubs & perennials outdoors in large containers for years. Trees: crape myrtle, figs, Japanese maples, sweet bag magnolia, star magnolia. Shrubs: panicle/oakleaf/smooth hydrangeas, rhododendrons, Encore/traditional azaleas, roses, roses of Sharon, boxwood, dwarf Alberta spruce, buddleias, pieris, camellias.Shade perennials: hosta, Japanese painted fern, Solomon’s seal, lily of the valley, pachysandra. Sun perennials: Lamium, baptisia, daylilies, coneflowers, blackberry lilies, liatris, asters, Sheffield & Shasta daisies, sage, lavender, oregano, chives, narcissus, bearded iris, lambs ears, roses, salvia, sedum Autumn Joy, sedum voodoo, honey suckle,. Short-lived perennials such as gaillardia only last one season generally. And fruit trees such as peaches have been short lived in pots.. I only use annuals for shots of continuous seasonal color.

Do your petunias and calibrachoas get dry, brown and crusty underneath?
@UpNorthGardenMI4 сағат бұрын
I sometimes notice that later in the season. It hasn’t affected the look of the container from above for me though.

How is it that 10 weeks have already passed? I purchased a 2 quart container of 4 wave petunias this spring from a big box store and took your advice- I split them in half and put each set into their own large 16 inch urn and oh my goodness! You were so right about not over crowding them! They look spectacular and my neighbors have asked why theirs aren't doing the same, LOL. I do also use the fertilizer. The Texas heat is creeping up though, so I will probably lose them even after giving them a good cut back. I have so enjoyed them this year though- and I know it was all because of your advice- so a million thank you's!

Wow! They’re all beautiful- can’t pick a favourite. PW isn’t always available here, so I appreciate the alternatives you have suggested. I was able to find super vista bubble gum and their yellow, so am trying them for the first time - with your fertilizer tips. They were a tad leggy and rough looking from the nursery😮 but with transplanting into large sized pots, judicious pruning and regular fertilizer they are filling in nicely! Loved your initial plantings- with the recipe changes-and the regular updates! I’m learning so much…and have shared your site/videos with friends and family.

I got 3 elephant ears plants that I wanted to try for the first time. I was going to plant one in a pot with a canna lily and 2 pots with an elephant ear and a hibiscus plant. I was told they were a tropical plant and would go good with the hibiscus and a canna lily. But, then I read somewhere else elephant ears don't want full sun but the hibiscus and canna lily does. Can you please tell me what the true facts are on the elephant ears plant? By the way, I love all your pots updates .Thank you Corey!

There is a collection of plants that are called “elephant ear,” so you’ll want to check the tag of the plant you bought.

Wd like to learn more abt maintenance of Angel wing begonias. I hv trimmed mine because of getting tall and leggy. Then wht I trim turns leggy. Not growth. Eventually just sticks.

I have same issue as you. They don’t usually make it through the end of July. Mostly because that is when I get tired of being consistent with watering 😢. This year I have been watching your videos and am going to try harder. I even bought a moisture meter - mostly because my daughter in law bought me orange calibrachoa with blue lobelia in the center - Detroit Tigers! - and I don’t want to kill it. With all our rain this year- I moved it to where the overhang of the house protects it a little more and have been going out once the sun has been out for a while and checking moisture, drainage holes etc. Thanks! I’ll let you know how they do but I am pretty much a not me in this variety…

Lately I've been using things other than planters, like trash cans and bowls from Dollar Tree. And actually, if you have DT stores in your area, they've had some nice larger planters for $3-$5.
