This is an old video but the man said he had trouble revving the engine over 3K. The reason he can't do this is because the engine is starving for air at high RPM. The variable vane in his turbo are stuck in the restrictive position which has the effect of quickly spooling the turbo and a barking noise when letting off the accelerator. The downside is the overly restrictive flow will choke the engine at higher RPM, increased exhaust temperatures, poor fuel mileage at highway speeds, possibility to over speed the turbo, and overheat the turbo components such as the turbine wheel and center bearings/bushings, lack of power, overheated exhaust valves and seats, and many more problems. It's common for these turbo components to become stuck in any position if they sit for some time in damp weather and disassembly is advised to free them again.

I did a liquid moly diesel purge where you run the engine from the can until its all gone, just need to put the fuel return in the can too. Did it work ?🤷♂did it hurt? I don't think so. That car must be what we call tritons here in aus.

I ran my diesel engine on nothing but 1ltr of injector cleaner called Diptane injector cleaner I just disconnected the feed and return from the fuel filter straight into the bottle and ran it until it used it all and it ran perfectly and even produced less smoke on higher revs. A KZfaq mechanic put me onto it his KZfaq name is "Bodge it & Leg it" and his name doesn't reflect what he does he is a 1 man band mechanic mostly mobile work. Here is his video. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qKyHq7F6mprMeYk.htmlsi=dqu97JR59qGweveF

Diesels will run on 100% injector cleaner and not give a crap. Only adverse effect is that the revs will hang when you let off, and drop only after a while

I've used all manner of injector cleaners over the years in my 2.0 tdi and in my experience the best one by a country mile is the Forte injector cleaner.

Too much injector cleaner can desolve too much a chunk of gunk, but not desolving it complitly and may cause blockage in fuel system. Also, diesel fuel has lubricating properties that are important for the long-term operation of the high-pressure pump, but injector cleaner may reduce it when over dose. It is okay to use injector cleaner for cleaning injectors directly on stend and after that flush with diesel.

Breif subscription , Liquid Moly Purge, disconnect the fuel relay or fuse, in engine bay disconnect both fuel lines put them in the bottle of Liqui Moly Purge start engine,run it until the bottle is nearly empty.Replace fuel filter disconnect everyday and attach the normal fuel lines back to the car. Search on KZfaq and you will get a much better picture. On my MQ Mitsubishi I replaced both rubber intake hoses with silicone hoses, big difference in throttle response. I'm guessing you still have the original hoses that have lost there elasticity over time and are quite soft once the engine is at normal temperature. When the engine is at normal temperature and you accelerate the intake hoses becomes like balloon when the turbo kicks in.
@FastInTheCorners5 ай бұрын
My intake hose was actually burst, had an audible boost leak eventually. Replaced with silicone hoses now 👌

They're just amazon copies of the ARB spotlights if I remember correctly. Cheap-ish units. I stripped them down to paint the outer rings black and seam sealed it all up when re-assembling as that's likely what would let cheap units down. They've aged pretty well, just the factory paint on the rear case of the units starting to turn white now.

Hey mate, FYI, diesels want to run lean, rich is not good which is the complete opposite to petrol engines. Overfueling a diesel melts pistons/ increases combustion and exhaust temperatures.
