Here’s the thing. If one thinks that one is enlightened one probably isn’t. An enlighten person doesn’t really know that they’re enlightened, and therefore doesn’t waive their so-called enlightenment around like a flag. Just like one cannot break up a dream into different pieces one cannot break up the universe into different pieces. One universe is still only one universe. I was speaking with this guy once when he said that he wished that he could become one with the universe . I then asked him where was he born ?He says it himself, a lake has many different waves. And each wave is unique, however it’s still just one lake. It’s too bad that didn’t get that .It’s funny how someone shows up with an English accent and people assume that he knows what he’s talking about. Here’s something to remember, all the Sages from the time we crawled out of our caves went through their dark night of the soul. And would include Buddha, Christ, Lao Tzu, and all the others. Enlightenment doesn’t mean the end of pain, it means in this case that one has come to terms with it.

I always thought true spirituality that it's not suppression of mind but realised that it don't control you anymore?

Somehow I felt the urge to watch this and I am happy I did. Just these last 2 months I have plonged once again into my search for my nonduality. And it didn't feel right. I felt less alive. Also I am struggling again with my wish to be what I am and my wish for enlightenment, that seem to be in contradiction with eachother. So, if they are true at the same time - my humanity and my nonduality- I feel so relieved! I will let it sink in now first. Thank you, Jeff Foster, for your honesty. I appreciate it a lot. ❤

Good luck. Just remember when you say "I think this is true spirituality" you are still assigning a concept to the idea of spirituality and assigning it perfection. Spirituality is an unique experience which when unadulturated is able to flow in its own way. Just get out of the way and stop obsessing with it.

Hello, fellow spiritual non-seeker (we don't need to seek, just accept what is as it is right now, right?) 😂 I've been teaching non-duality for a few years now, and after many years of exploring the question of "who I truly am," I've reached the same conclusion as you have (no wonder I stumbled upon your video, lol). The concept of non-duality versus duality implies a kind of separation. True fulfillment comes when we accept everything as it is-recognizing that we are one Being manifesting in many different forms and shapes, embracing both Nothingness and Everything simultaneously. There's a song that beautifully encapsulates this idea in its final line: "To reach God, one must learn to be human" (from Abrete Corazon: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gLSfec6Irs7HqKM.html). And hunger is simply a sensation that makes the baby respond with crying as a form of signaling the need to survive.

Jeff, you saw through one of the pitfalls of neo nonduality. Not nonduality. Your new view is actually nondual tantra, embracing the human experience as also Divine. Infused by and rising out of nondual awareness, never being not nondual yet appearing as dual, and it is glorious.

Any path whether it is duality or non duality, the objective of any spiritual practice is to transcend suffering and lead a normal and peaceful life while discharging our duties as specified by our fate and destinity. For example, a soldier has to fight and protect his nation and at the same time he must be peaceful at the same time. To achieve this calmness in a worldy life which pose so many challenges one needs to realize and experience there are some higher and subtle truth involving our own existence, consciousness, and this world/universe which cannot be fully comprehend by our mind and disturbed mind. So, spirituality is an effort to ser e humanity by normalising and balancing our mind. Each person has a lavel of consciousness and he/she realizes accordingly.

Hi Jeff, I really appreciate hearing a "spiritually experienced" person speak about love and respect, emphasizing the importance of welcoming all that we are, rather than striving for enlightenment and being something we are not. We miss our own beautiful human nature in that process. Some 10 years ago, during a period of illness and other seemingly unfortunate events, I had a similar spiritual experience than you. But I realized something in addition, that every trait, no matter how destructive it may seem at the moment, is not only a part of us but an essential part of our human nature. When these traits are welcomed (not healed or transformed, which are nicer words for actually getting rid of them, and can be quite brutal), we begin to see how they are our missing link in living authentically and free. To see all that we are for what it is. I would love to invite you to one of my workshops to explore how this perspective, recognizing the unchangeable essence in any trait, can add value to your personal awakening as a "godly human being." , I have seen this approach drastically change how people feel about themselves. It would be beneficial if shared more widely, and I would be thrilled to collaborate with you. Bringing these insights to a broader audience might be more your forte, and it would be great to share this journey with you and perhaps work together. I remember how much I wanted to be enlightened. Then I was enlightened to the fact that Im human.

I appreciate your honesty in your experience. Sure as many already shared,its the meaning you give to non duality. Non duality is for me just space for all we are without having any preference to anything incl. Having preferences . Space for all we are , living inclusively. Incl excluding things rejecting and judging. When all just is, we live consciously in a non dual way in duality. Non duality has never been anything else than that.

@lifewithoutacentre Finally found an honest video. Somehow the concept of Liberation has been strangled by all philosophies that each one claims to be the ultimate truth. The purpose of 'Adhyatma' (~ spirituality) should be to make one's life fulfilling and pleasant. Just believing in something because someone says so can only go so far. Being non-dual should be taken at a micro level and not the macro level as is often touted. At a micro level, we are all made of the same fundamental building blocks be it subatomic particles, strings or energy (whatever u call it). Whether u r inanimate / lifeless or full of life, dead or alive, at micro level we are all the same. It is the combinations, arrangements, bondings of these fundamental elements that has created everything that you see and don't see in the universe. This is how we are all connected, we are the same. How difficult it is to understand? But then it won't be too much of a philosophy would it. So we came up with brilliant ideas. That there is consciousness and what we see is not real, it is only a reflection or appearance. The reality is somewhere else, something else. And in that far-from-reach reality we are all connected at consciousness level. Now you have a dream to chase this fancy reality. How much can you deny the current life calling it a dream or appearance when you feel it, experience it. Then how will current life be better if we keep denying it to be a dream.

Thank you for sharing this perspective. I'm struggling with self love most of the time, when I'm doing "self love" things I always judge my actions. How do I deal with someone who hates themself? Should I just leave them with their thoughts or what can I do to make them less hate themself?

Acting like one is enlightened does not lead to enlightenment. Exclude your humanity to embrace your divinity when you are ready. The mind clings to our humanity, perpetuates it, revels in it. It is very satisfying yet always leads us nowhere. Like working out on a treadmill, going through the motions of traveling yet going absolutely nowhere. The message of non duality to me was to stalk my ego, exposing it against what is, which leads to more and more situations where my mind shuts up and I experience the bliss of being choicelessly aware, leaving only compassion and a love of Being.

Human life an earth always depends women. When we are child depended on mother, than grow man depends on wife getting older depends on daughter. So duality very important symbol when we living on earth.❤
