Ive had my Savanna 2 yrs now. Hes not ny first monitor, but probably the one ive kept best. It has taken this full 2yrs to really gain trust and get him pretty tame. Hes never bit me and only tail whipped 1 time. Its taken a TREMENDOUS AMOUNT of trust building. Good vid bro.

Thank you so much for your support for the channel and I know you can truly relate to my experience. It's almost like the more time it takes and the more work you have to put in just makes it that much more rewarding when you have those breakthroughs and get to where you wanted to be. Unfortunately my new job has me way too busy to really post on the channel but I will be getting back at it soon and it will be more of a full-time committed gig in the future. When I come back it's going to be so much better

They are not bad they are just not as good as the strip bulbs. They still produce UVB light and a lot of people cannot afford the long expensive light fixtures and expensive strip bulbs. They are not ideal but they are an okay alternative

I have one doing the same exact thing right now. Persistency and consistency is the key and using food to Tong feed and lure him onto your hand or arm is a great way to try to bridge that Gap. Often it can be Territorial and they will not be like that out of the tank but they can be very fast and run at that age so just be careful
@Dragon_Whisperer

I will also sometimes Place greens or vegetables they don't like in their mouth when they're openly hissing. That can be a good deterrent as well

You probably need to give it more privacy. More climbing space and all around more places to hide. I've only had my beardies get angry when other people or a dog is around for a long time. It gets spooked and uncomfortable. But will quickly calm down and get over it after he feels safe again. It's husbandry plays a major roll in bearded dragons attitudes

How can you say that bro LOL I literally provide the sources that I got my information from and this care guide has been watched by multiple big name KZfaqrs who told me it was one of the best out there. All the information in this video is correct and accurate. Go be a hater and spread your misinformation somewhere else

@@Dragon_Whisperer ; Are you suggesting the information you offer is beyond criticism?? Read my response, I suggested you need more knowledge because you not only offer supplementary D3 you also advise others to do the same.. CLEARLY you are unaware that varanids cannot metabolise the substance and.it has ZERO effect on blood serum levels.. Many supplements are pure guesswork, the industry is not regulated, they can slim almost anything, including our animals must have their products in order to remain healthy.. No harm in offering a little calcium, especially if the animal is a sexually mature female.. Feed the feeders well and in the case of V. examthematicus, offer mostly inverts (as you suggested).. There is no record of this species reaching 6ft as you claim, please show myself and other people one single example?? There is so much nonsense out there, we don't want to add to it... Those are my main criticisms, I hope you will correct your mistakes (we all make them) the rest of the advise sounds o. k, I wish you and your monitor all the best.. There will always be someone with more knowledge and experience than we have, ALWAYS!! I,f you cannot find the info on D3 let me know, it's also been found to be of no benefit to Bearded dragons, that begs the question how many more lizard species and families don't either? Take care.. 👍

thank you and sorry I jumped the gun but I just get a lot of comments like that that I delete from new people that think they know what they're talking about by watching one or two videos. please send me a link for the D3 information if you have one. I love to know what it says about bearded dragons because I have eight of those and they're one of my favorite species and anything I can learn better about their care I would love to know. you are definitely riding the fact that there are a lot of people out there preaching that things are the right way to do it when we really just don't know because we haven't had the time or the proper research done. thank you for your support of the channel and I do appreciate your criticism!

That is just because in the wild one of their biggest predators are birds grabbing them from above. Anything's coming from above triggers their instinct to run. They will get more used to it over time but it's better to try to pick them up by putting your hand underneath their chin and sliding it up their belly. The more interactions the better but approaching from above will often even calls adult dragons to run. It's just a natural instinct. Thank you so much for supporting the channel

Curious I have 2 bearded dragons 1 younger male and one older female should they be in separate tanks? and I also have a young kitten which seems to get along with the male but the female doesn't like the kitten, my kitten has learned to stay away but is there any other precautions I should take ?
@Dragon_Whisperer
@Dragon_Whisperer 11 ай бұрын
To be honest cats and lizards are mortal enemies in most instances and even if you don't see signs of altercations or what seems to just be curiosity could be stressing the bearded dragon out very bad. Also they will definitely need to be separated if they are different sizes and different sexes. The bigger dragon can bully the smaller Dragon away from food and the mail will definitely try to breed the female as soon as he reaches sexual maturity. He will constantly hound and try to engage the female and she will be stressed out. I guarantee you the kitten is stressing the female out and could become unhealthy at some point. I will try to not let the kitten in the same room as the dragons. When the kitten becomes a cat it could definitely be, serious issue. In my reptile business, I will not sell a lizard to a household that I know has cats. It almost always never ends well and usually the cat owner only has to mess up one time and it cost the lizard either a life or a severe injury. Thanks for supporting the channel

@Dragon_Whisperer iam getting them separate tanks this week I adopted them of a mate who could no longer care for them and I've already seen the female try attack the younger male so separated tanks is definitely happening and as for the kitten she's roughly 7 months old and sort of submits to the male lizard she goes upside down and purrs but I will do my best to keep them separated iam gonna be setting the lizards up in the spare room as of this week which I will keen door closed unless iam in there thank you for your advice

My crested , gargoyles and my leopard geckos all bask. I used a 25 watt basking bulbs for my Caledonia reps and a 50-watt for my Leo's. Color's all improved,energy level. Mentally more aware. You just need to have an appropriate sized enclosure to bulb wattage and distance to geckos. For this I direct you to JTB REPTILES.

This is wonderful. Well cared for animals with a keeper that really cares about his critters!!!! You took advice very well and listened which I really appreciate!!!I think you will win over your savannah and tegu for sure as you’ve made good progress to this point but now the trick is to win them over with points we discussed. Watching this video should really help Others as you are doing a great job explaining this process for others to recognize. Reading body language lack of tongue flicking with savannah is critical to gain his trust. I am just commenting as I’m watching this video but I think this is great to see in action. I hope others can see the value of these in process videos do we can watch your success! Your tegu flicks his tongue a bunch and is thinking. Him tongue flicking and touching your hand without freaking him out is excellent and a critical part of the process. Yes, I don’t do gloves or any if that, the trick is passive experiences with contact to let the animal realize nothing bad happened after the interaction. The fist is the safest as it is hardest to bite and flat hand also allows contact without a digit being offered without an obvious target to bite. I think you are going to make progress as we discussed and this video will show where you are and you can show the progress as you create two solid relationships with both these wonderful creatures. I hope people get to see this video series! Thanks! Kevin
