Alice in Wonderland illustrations are truly enchanting. The creativity and whimsy captured in each illustration bring the story to life in a way that's both captivating and timeless. Collecting these illustrated editions feels like owning a piece of art, each one adding a unique perspective to Lewis Carroll's classic tale. I'm delighted to have them all in my collection-they never fail to spark joy and wonder every time I revisit Wonderland.

KZfaq usually only recommend me the same boring stuff, but sometimes it surprises me with so much beauty
@studiowebsiteАй бұрын
Thank you very much! I try to keep up with the trends of the contemporary times and show my works in KZfaq, Instagram and Facebook, even though that takes a lot of time and distracts me from my main work - drawing and painting.

@@studiowebsite yes! Social media is really annoying right? And to me it adds an unnecessary pressure, as a beginner artist. A place of experimentation and accepting mistakes transforms into a produced scene and while I’m drawing I’m thinking “should I post this as soon as I finish?”. But being able to see art like yours and your process is really amazing and inspirational, so thank you again!

Thank you! I'm glad it was helpful! I'm going to make a short video of DIY ballbearing barens for relief printing I did myself. Those things (barens) allow you to print any size, though the process is a way slower than with etching press.

Wonderful and fun image. How do you clean the charcoal off?
@studiowebsiteАй бұрын
I used charcoal only when drawing a draft. Then I fixed it and transferred the draft on canvas with tracing paper, so actual drawing was made on canvas.
@davefletch3063Ай бұрын
@@studiowebsite oh, that makes sense. I was thinking you had some magic technique to remove charcoal dust. I really enjoy your work, glad the algorithm brought me your video

Divino not divina
@studiowebsite2 ай бұрын
Sorry - translated from "divine carousel" with Google, having "Divine Comedy" in mind. Now I see "Carosello" ends with -o, so it is masculine gender and instead of "divina" might have "divino". Thank you for pointing on that mistake!

Curious what ink and process you used to get such flat black washes, I find ink challenging to use because the drying time is so fast that there is a layer of streaking unless you dilute with water then there is the painstaking process of relayering every time to get layers of grey to build up to black. Watersoluable graphite streaking and shiney as well.
@studiowebsite2 ай бұрын
Thank you! Please don't be confused by the black background mushroom shape - it is painted with black acrylic. That's why it seems very solid and really black, unlike the darkest areas of pen/ink drawing which are rather dark grey.

@@studiowebsiteThanks, I can see that there is a lot of work there. for me it is a bit surreal but also bit unsettling. For some reason I am thinking of the Divine Comedy or another book called the Infernal Parade. It has a strong link in my mind to extracts from Bruegel The Elder or even Bosch.

Hi Oleg - love this design! I've started to linocut and was wondering what paper you use? I bought some specifically for printmaking but its too thick for printing without a press
@studiowebsite2 ай бұрын
Thank you! As per paper: hygroscopic paper with a nice texture is needed, not thick if use baren or spoon. I'd recommend ordinary paper for printers, just make sure of the fine tooth (texture). For larger prints - white craft paper, I've printed - it is good. When you obtain press, then thickness is not a problem.
