It is a double problem if the good leg is weak and unsteady because of old injurues or old age.

With respect that’s not a low chair, it would be better if you demonstrated on the couch behind you, thank you anyways I’ll give those techniques a try.

If I had a railing I wouldn't need a walker, would I?
@josi7690
@josi7690 3 ай бұрын
That's not necessarily true. I have to use a walker and although I haven't tried this method, I need to hang on to something with both hands. Those railings are too far apart for both arms to reach simultaneously.

Do you ever recommend trying to bend your knees while falling, to fall on shins and protect upper body?

Excellent. I actually tripped while taking a walk at the park and used your technique. I was able to get up and kept on walking.👍

Nice, would love to see how to do it with only one leg weightbearing though. It would be easy if you could put both feet down like this guy. This video is different than what I was shown in PT (up with the good, down with the bad), so not sure this is a safe way to do this.

I am so grateful to have discovered these videos. I recently had two falls caused by not paying attention to where I walked and not raising my feet. I am 80 and do not want to live in fear of falling, so thank you for all these wonderful exercises and information.

None of these actually work if you've had knee replace surgery. All of these require one to crawl which is NOT possible due to the pain.

EXACTLY MY EXPERIENCE! I HAD knee replacement surgery, and fell, i had no knees to rely on in order to crawl on my knees to get into a chair ... I had to crawl on my elbows and then slither onto the couch very very slowly. Super painful!

all kids who play sportrs should learn this, its how they sprain wrists and break fingers. My son is a perfect example. Learnig how to fall right just isn't taught in sports I guess.

Seriously this is beyond ridiculous, very few seniors have the arm or upper body strength to use this information, it really is bizarre and Iit seems unlikely you could have even worked with seniors given the content

@@mauricio6710 Well, that was exactly what I was looking for (going up/down the shallow first step of my front porch with no railing), so it was a help to me, after searching many, many vids for that. There are plenty of other vids out there, so hopefully you can find one that fits our particular circumstances. Good luck with whatever challenge you have that requires a walker. Cheers.
