Not having a welding unit I think I'll just spend the extra 7 seconds making a "knot" in the hose.

I watched your video on making long cones, then I realized I do not have a machine like that, now I could make a machine like that but that would take a lot of time for a one of, I decided to cut a piece of 0.5mm stainless steel and roll it by hand over a pipe that was about the same diameter as the small end of the cone and that worked fine, now I have come across the problem of an irregular cone and this (the second cone) method might help me out. Anyways it's always a pleasure watching your video's.

I enjoyed seeing this done but I think copper for the stress of a banjo rim is not a good use of that material. Even the spun nickel plated brass rims made by S. S. Stewart had maple cores.
@RonCovellАй бұрын
Thanks for chiming in on this. I do not claim to be an expert on banjos, but my customer wanted to learn to make his own copper banjo rims, and he seems pleased with the results. I believe he does place some wood inside the rim, parallel with the fretboard, which spans the width of the rim.
