Hey Jim, interesting. Can you put 2 near-half-height sanding sleeves on a drum and sand effectively?

Thanks for the video. Which replacement sanding belts did you buy? Mine keep walking up the belt sander no matter what I do.
@3twelveworkshop312
@3twelveworkshop312 6 ай бұрын
I just buy replacements off Amazon... Try flipping the belt to see if it walks down the sander to see if its a belt problem. If it still walks up, then it's a machine issue. I found the tracking knob is not that precise, and sometimes it takes a bit of fiddling to get it to track correctly

I agree... ehhhhh it is a sander. And YES it is much bigger than I thought as well for a darn spindle and 4" belt work area she sure sucks up space. Exactly how I found this video because I'm on the fence of going with a different one that at least has more sanding capacity if it is going to consume as much cubic "air" as it does.

I have this sander and it’s really useful and accurate provided you set it up carefully. What is annoying is the parts storage which does not hold the parts securely, they fall out/off due to vibration and even during cleaning!

Oh. I need instructions. So, thank you very kindly for producing and sharing this. And well done on your first video and choice of project. I found you looking for just such a tutorial. I need one of these. I need to be able to drill several holes in a straight line. I agree about buying this instead of making one. I’m a creator and as such, I know how your time is valuable. Imagine if you built a nice quality copy of this table and put it up for sale, do you think after the materials and your time you could turn a profit? I say $46.00 is a fair price!

I was lucky enough to be a member of the "Den Of Tools" Facebook group and saw the first few posts about it. It was only being sold for the price at a HD store in Florida. Went online, put the correct FLA zip code in, and got one at that price. Shipping it to NC didn't change the price, but within a few hours the "deal" was gone. Just the right place at the right time!!! Thanks for watching!!!

I really need one of these but I am NOT going to spend probably north of $350.00 w/ taxes on this thing that some people say that its not very square in the first place. Anyway you might give me any tips on possible how to find one at what you paid for the thing? Would greatly appreciate any help you might be able to give...Subscribed ! Thanks

I wonder why cookies have to be a round shape? Why couldn't we just cut square pieces of say... 3/4 inch board into 2 1/2 inch or whatever size squares. Then use a one side sticky pad or even glue and rubber pad for both sides. To make these with? Maybe I am wrong but these don't seem like a complicated tool. All we are using them for is to hold items up off the bench to paint or stain maybe some sanding??? Just a thought. Help me understand. Thank you for posting!
@georgeburchett5798
@georgeburchett5798 Жыл бұрын
Also an after thought.... Maybe even drill a hole in the center of these square pieces and glue a short piece of dowel rod that fit our dog holes in our bench top if we wanted??
@jackbrobst7559
@jackbrobst7559 Жыл бұрын
The pucks and bench cookies are a little heavier, that's the only thing I could think might make a difference. Some experimenting is definitely in order to determine if that would actually be an issue or not, and even if it is you could just drill a hole in the side and fill it with split shot or something.

I was actually in the shop tonight and cut up some scraps of 1/2" sande plywood into 2" squares. I had some square furniture pads of that size, so I glued two squares together with some super glue and then added the pads. They only weigh about 30 grams each. Haven't had a chance to test them, but they seem like they'd work just fine. Considering staining them dark brown and calling them bench brownies.

Right. I linked them in the description back then. When I made the video they didn't have the pucks listed (they do now, must have been out at the time) Can still beat them on the puck price on Amazon. But they still have the best stick on gripper pads. Thanks for watching!!

Nicely done! Personally, I probably would not wax the top of the sled where the pieces to be cut or held because you want a surface that the pieces won’t slide around on. I have two sleds, one, the larger one, has a 21 inch depth capacity, I use it for panels. I built it some 20 years ago and except for replacing the area around the blade kerf, it’s original and still going strong!

I recorded this the Saturday after Thanksgiving 2022. While editing it in mid December my computer crashed. I lost a several files, unfortunately mostly close up shots. After watching a few editing and storytelling video on youtube, I managed to edit it into a mostly coherent video that still covers the basics steps of constructing a push block.

Almost totally off topic. Shrimp and Grits. I attended a GM ham radio get together at Bowling Green Kentucky in 1994. I went for breakfast and told the server I'd never had grits. I was and I liked them.....and the wonderful folks in Bowling Green Kentucky.
