I like your sled! Besides looking cool and certainly different from most of the other 7000 out there, it looks fairly easy to build and accurate. Great presentation, and thanks. Keepem comin!!!

Among other things, you are right about the glue. A pro (plywood manufacturer) told me that more glue doesn't equal a stronger bonds, it's pressure applied that does it.

Nicely done! Personally, I probably would not wax the top of the sled where the pieces to be cut or held because you want a surface that the pieces won’t slide around on. I have two sleds, one, the larger one, has a 21 inch depth capacity, I use it for panels. I built it some 20 years ago and except for replacing the area around the blade kerf, it’s original and still going strong!

I like it, the 7001&2 sled build, turned excellent sir, I also like the dinner, I just know I could do an excellent job of expanding (waist line that is) with a dinner like that. Thanks for the video, I enjoyed watching.

Thanks 👍. I also cut a split a lot of firewood for additional heat (especially with heating oil prices this year!!). it helps me keep the waistline from expanding too much!!!

Great design. Sort of a minimalist approach. Great job on the video too. So many are huge and us older sawdusters cannot lift BIG, FANCY sleds. BTW, my dad had the same arm saw as yours. Thanks for your work.

Right on! The router was my great uncle's. Still works great for rounding and chamfering edges. If it breaks I will go for a trim router. Until then I'll keep chugging along. For the time it's a great form factor and somewhat light weight. I wasn't sure about the dinner intermission... but it seemed to fit.

Holy crap, I don't know how you get anything done without Festool tools, and how you don't lose a finger a day without a SawStop. BE CAREFUL AND STOP BUILDING MEDIOCRE CRAP WITHOUT THE RIGHT TOOLS. ;) Man, it does my heart and soul good to see people doing what I do with the same or similar enough tools I do it with. Well done, sir.

Can’t agree more on the excessive glue amounts in most woodworking videos. It’s just wasteful to have gobs of glue dripping out every time you glue up something. And cleaning it up wastes your time too. Love the vintage, craftsman radial arm saw. It’s a little bit newer than the one I inherited from my dad but the design is unmistakable. I’m pretty sure there’s some parts on there They didn’t change for 30 years. Mine is still rock solid. Though I did buy another one to scavenge the motor. They get little respect these days, though when you think about it, they’re just a more flexible sliding miter saw.

My RAS was a found tool that people didn't want to take the time to true up and work on. The switch was busted, so to them it made more sense to replace the whole saw. I fixed 'er up and added a somewhat effective dust collection system to it. Thanks for watching!!!

7002. I just made one too- but unlike almost all, it is zero height. You paid all that money for a cast iron table, because it is ground flat and true, then you stick a bit of wood between it and your workpiece! And you lose blade height! And you can only do 90deg cuts! See my channel for the solution to this...
