Do not buy Power Stop! They will not stand behind their products. Both of my front calipers locked up within 4 months of each other after only being on the vehicle for less than 2 years and less than 6,000 miles.
@freebird42867 күн бұрын
I would not recommend buying Power Stop. They do not stand behind their products. Both of my front calipers locked up in less than 2 years with less than 6,000 miles on them (I have state inspections to prove mileage) and they will not consider replacing them. Luckily I still had my oem calipers from 2015 that work just fine until I can find a company that will stand behind a quality product.
@freebird42867 күн бұрын
I would not recommend buying Power Stop products. Both front calipers locked up in just under 2 years and when I contacted their customer service department all I got was “sorry they are out of warranty”. If my product failed in that short of time, I would want it back for research purposes unless I already knew I was selling a subpar product.

Or just buy plane face rotors . Drilled is nothing but looks
@monkeyking-self-proclaimed70503 күн бұрын
I don't know about that. I noticed huge difference in braking distance when I got slotted ones. Only thing is the pads goes out faster. I'll trade that for safe stopping though.
@jay_Jalapeno3 күн бұрын
@monkeyking-self-proclaimed7050 I said drilled . Slotted only gives a benefit in the fact that it wipes away a layer of pad all the time so you get a fresh layer for braking . That's why your pad life is worse than half of normal I bet . 95% of people would never notice w difference between an ok pad and slotted and good pads on a solid face quality rotor

Too bad you don’t carry rotors for my car, but you do carry like four varieties of pads. 🤨

I just noticed my friend put his rotors on backwards. He said the instructions didn't mention the fact that they were directional. You guys gotta make sure these instructions are included in the PDF instructions for all of the kits you sell via Summit. Not everyone instinctively knows they are directional, and not everyone will check youtube to see if they're directional. Some people read the instructions and if they don't specifically mention these cross-drilled and slotted rotors are directional there is a 50/50 chance they're going to put them on backwards.

Do you need to install abutment clips? I left mine off because they were too tight. Now I'm dealing with sticking pads... Is that a culprit?

Just installed a Powerstop pads/rotors kit on the front of my '16 F-150. No bedding instructions were included, but I'm not unfamiliar. Noticed right out of the box a somewhat gritty silver coating on the entirety of the rotors. Man... These things groaned and shuddered like crazy at low speed. I started with some very easy, long, low speed decelerations to near but not complete stops. Things began to smooth out somewhat. From there went onto a highway with lights and speed limits varying between 55 & 65 MPH. Again: Long gradual stops at each red light. Finally; a couple of firm, quicker decelerations to full stops, and things got much smoother after a total of about 50 miles. I'll continue with longer easier stops for about another 50 miles, and then see how these do on some of the very long and steep high passes we have here in Colorado. (after the rears are finished)

There's so much conflicting info on this brake paste i miss the days when nobody ever used paste ( this was before my time but my dad always mentions it lol). I'm having a stickign issue with some pads and I thin it may be because of the lubricant I am using.. this purple cermaic brake paste which almost seems like glue was applied to the back of my pads. Should I just put these things in dry? With only slight amount on the ears? Is it even necessary to lube the piston like i see in so many vids?

So I’m actually looking at getting a brake set from you guys. But I do tow a heavy trailer and I have also heard of problems with drilled rotors.

How is this an upgrade? Because it says “extreme” on the box?
@paulherrington5837Ай бұрын
Drilled and slotted rotors plus carbon ceramic pads which equals low dust. I think that’s plenty of an upgrade

I purchased the Z36 pads with drilled and slotted rotors for the front. I lubricated everything as mentioned in the video and my Z36 carbon ceramic pads squeak horrible. I broke them in as per the instructions on the box and it is really embarrassing to have squealing/squeaking brakes on a newer Sierra Denali. I'm going to trash the Powerstop's and switch back to OEM ACDelco.
@keanumartin6593 ай бұрын
It is normal for carbon ceramic pads to squeak. I believe it’s something to do with the material used to make the pads

I decided to dip my toes into HPDE this year and selected the Track Day to run with OEM blank rotors on my C5 Z06. I also added braided lines and Motul 660. I was seriously impressed with the performance. They are a little dusty, but there was no fade, even with two heavy braking zones at VIR. I'll be upgrading to Powerstop on my Tundra tow vehicle too.
