Try to avoid spinning the bearings when they are dry. After installation, let them cool and then put a little oil on them

Hello! I want to ask how the large holes in the cooling fins work. I often see such tuning, but no one can explain the very principle of their work. If you make a grid of holes with a diameter equal to the thickness of the fin, then this increases the cooling area, and how are holes of such a large diameter useful?

It is a piston for a Suzuki TS 250. some people use Wossner or Wiseco pistons for this bike.

Is the nearside crank oil seal in back to front here? Spring or inner side should face any oil. Other side with generator should look like this side though, as no oil there.

A couple of points....Heating the right case up to spitting hot rather than the recommended 100 C will fry the Wellseal on contact...not good. Also it is easier to fit the the right case THEN the oil guide disc which can now be easily located in the correct position, then fit the bearing circlip... then and finally the oil seal which can be positioned on the shaft more carefully...

Please help with my ETZ 250 - 5 gears. I often feel resistance on the lever when I try to shift into third gear. Second gear is still engaged. However, when I reduce from fourth gear to third gear, everything works. I dismantled the engine and everything seems fine.

How much power it does? Any dyno figures?

This engine produces 26bhp. Others with this level of tune can make around 28bhp. With gearing I run it has a top speed of around 105mph

Carbs are restricted by our club rules to Bored out original BVF carbs or Mikuni 32 VM or 34 VM. This is to conform with the club technical regulations bmzrc.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/BMZRC-Technical-Regulations-2017-1.pdf

This piston is from Tony Holmshaw. Other suppliers are Wiesco and Wossner (Suzuki TS 250 piston)

Piston are either custom made forged items or Suzuki TS 250 forged pistons made by Wiesco or Wossner

Are folk still rebuilding these engines? I have a road going ETZ and the engine needs a complete rebuild. I have a go myself but understand you have to get the clutch tightened particular well else it’ll spin on the crank and bugger it up. Any contacts much appreciated!

@@BikingChap Yes, you have to torque up the clutch bolt. Here's the workshop manual if you fancy giving it a go yourself mzriders.files.wordpress.com/2017/04/mzmanual.pdf In the UK there are quite a few places to go. Depends where you are.

The gearbox would be go easier into the engine if warm up the engine to 100 °C with a heating plate . It is also discribed in the users Manual Workshop. If you had warm it up, you didn´t need a hammer
