The 2008 Topps Garnett card photo was from 1/25/08 versus Timberwolves. This was KG’s first game against his old team since getting traded to Celtics. KG made key defensive play to end game and capture the win, which is what KG is celebrating here, along with symbolizing how happy he was to now be a Celtic and no longer a Timberwolve because of his strained relationship with the Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor upon his departure

Great tips!! They make sense but aren’t always so easy to keep in mind. Having different techniques for personal collection separate from potential flipping/business collection now makes sense to me!

If PSA wants to offer an actual guarantee, they could at least refund the grading free if you resubmit and it grades higher.

In response to the people speaking on PSA, if any other grading company was trying to go through the millions of cards that PSA grades, they would have as many problems or more than PSA.. PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND, the grading company doesn’t matter when it comes to grades, it’s 100% which grader you get… Sooo many cards are coin flips that can go either way, so it’s up to how that person is feeling on that given day.. PSA is used because it has the highest resale value, plain & simple..

You seem to be very knowledgeable about the earlier football sets, if you want to make a spreadsheet of the More sought after cards from each set, maybe with brief notes about each set if there’s anything particular that’s important, I would agree to Let you know anytime something important becomes available so you don’t miss anything you’re looking for.. if that wouldn’t be too much trouble & if it interests you at all let me know

What's the prevailing thought out there of grading companies (primarily PSA) cataloging serial numbered cards in their own internal databases and just giving a resubmitted card that same grade again? I think I've heard them say, somewhat on record, that they don't do that (and your video here would lend credence to that), but I still can't help but think it's a strong possibility. So, it could be very risky to resubmit those types of cards. But I'm glad it worked out for you here. Congrats!

Psa told me that they won't regrade numbered card. I sent a jackson holliday and got a psa 8 they emailed me that they wouldn't regrade ot because its numbered

My new favorite youtuber lol I too love doing the same thing (and thought I was the only one) except i've never been to shows or anything. Another strategy I used pre-Covid was to buy a bunch of 90's boxes that had pretty much no pop count. A lot of those sets are popular so you can get a premium for a 9 in pop 1 especially if there is 0 10s.

And this is a perfect example of why I won't submit to PSA.

Does cracking and resubmitting throw off pop reports? If cards are getting graded multiple times by multiple companies it can really skew population numbers.

I always was worried with numbered cards that they may know that they’ve graded it before. This video shows that is definitely not true. Curious did you pay the premium for grading fee expecting to get the 10’s or paid for 9 and hope to get up charged? Great video!!

I had a tough decision to make. I recently pulled a 2024 out of 50 Yoshinobu Yamamoto on card gold Auto. I know for certain it will not get a 10. It will only get a 10 if the grader misses what I found, and it has happened before, but I know for certain it should not be a 10. However, I've been noticing PSA has been having a lot of issues with damaging people's cards, long wait time, inconsistent grading and I did not want to send it there. With PSA they may give it an 8. Next option is BGS and considering all the things BGS have been going through, I don't want to submit with them unless I know for 100% know I have a chance for a black label. So that leaves SGC, I've been submitting many cards with them lately and have got the grades I expected. For this one, I hope the grader misses that very tiny white that shows in the corner, (which if seen using a loupe digital magnifier). I am expecting a 9.5 which goes for $2,800 a PSA 9 last sold for $1200. If I get a 9.5. I will list it higher than last sold because a seller may want to crack it and take his chances at a BGS 9.5 or a PSA 10. So point of my message is depending on what you're going to do with the card, really consider which grading company to use.

PSA is so wildly inconsistent and its very disappointing. All the money you spend on grading and you are resorting to breaking the case and resending is ridiculous. PSA needs better quality control standards.

Sounds like psa has a good scam going, up charge and then give you a 9 when they know it's a 10 that you will send back for more money. I use TAG.

It’s a miracle the Barry Finest refractor got an 8, Not only with a print line but the fact that it’s off centered 90/10 on the front and back top to bottom. Also, I just sold the same Manning atomic refractor PSA 9, numbered to 50 also for $2000 on Ebay, so your value might be low for a 10, so there’s another bump lol. Thanks for the video!

While I’d do the same thing, it’s really to the point where you just keep cracking and resub and you’ll get a 10 eventually. Especially if you use Kurt’s Card Juice. Grading is a scam!

PSA guidelines centering does not matter unless it's extreme

On the one hand, completely pumped for you man! On the other, I’m deeply disturbed at how terribly inconsistent PSA can be, especially on high end cards. We pay top dollar for their grading and they are not great at grading 😂😂 they might be the worst of the big companies, lol

Have you ever used PSA service of....sending in a PSA graded card that you think deserves a higher grade.....if so, what were the charges?

Sorry you had to resub. Crazy how a card went from an 8 to a 10. Some collectors are way better than the "pros". Also think the raw grade is a scam most of the time comes back lower than the evaluation.
