Please stop supporting the lies of Big Lick. The horses should be shown with the natural gait with regular shoes and a tail that hasn't had the ligaments cut. Take yourself to a regular livestock auction in TN that sells horses. They use and abuse them until they are too scarred to pass inspection or crippled by the unnatural distribution of weight. They are sold at auction where most likely they will endure a hellish, packed semi tailer ride to a slaughter house!

WRONG! These horses are not in pain. You are probably thinking of Tennessee Walking horses doing the Big Lick, which is horrific and cruel. These are Saddlebreds, they are bred to move like this. Look closer and you will see these horses are NOT in distress. They are governed by the same governing body as the United States Equestrian Team and they wouldn't get away with cruelty. If the horse is off, it is excused from the ring so there would be no benefit to abusing a horse like that.

These the not Tennessee Walkers, this is NOT the Big Lick. These are Saddlebreds and they are bred to move like this. Through selective breeding, these horse are born to move like this. You can watch a Saddlebred foal running in a field that moves just like this. Just like anything, some are more athletic than others. Through training and conditioning, the best of the best will rise to the highest levels of the sport. It is no different than a human athlete. Saddlebreds are governed by the same governing body as the United States equestrian team. NO abuse is tolerated.

How bout the cut tail tendon and 10 or 12 inch shank in their mouth? I'm sure that's totally natural and just good training.

@@larino6824tails are not cut. They wear a cap wig or cap wig/switch combination. Since the invention of the cap wigs,knicking is all but non existent. As for the curb,its only as harsh as the hands that yank and pull on it. I see no beginner yank pull riders here. That’s clear in the video. I see no horses rearing up and and or flipping over backwards,or horses going 100 mph in reverse with gaping mouths. I see horses in the line up standing at ease parked mon their own volition with no impediment by the rider or the equipment.

These are NOT “trotting” horses. They are 5 gaited American Saddlebreds. One gait is the Rack. Much smoother than the trot. No, they don’t curl in like overbent other disciplines.

They do not break their tails. Please tell me what the shoeing regulations are for the divisions…length,weight,pads,wedges and most importantly the heel to toe ratio??? Educate yourself before you make such an uneducated comment.

@@susangarland6869 Yes, I do and there's no abuse. I ride dressage but am extremely familiar with ASB show horses. This is not big lick, and American Saddlebred show horses live pretty darn good lives. Again, can you explain in detail what exactly about this is offensive to you? You sound unfamiliar with this breed.

American Saddlebred horses are not abused, are not hurting when you see their beautiful action and performance. You need to educate yourself before going off half-cocked with lies and distortion. It's outrageous when horse people that say they are experienced say something so foolish.
